For the first two days of school, parents will be able to escort their children to their classrooms up until 7:30 when the building is secured for the day. If you want to walk your child to class, make sure you are here in plenty of time. Teachers will be busy supervising students so they will not have time to have parent conferences. If you missed meet the teacher, please make an appointment to visit with the teacher at another time.
This means that starting on Friday, parents will not be allowed to enter our secure morning hallways because we will be focused on establishing out morning routines. Thank you for your understanding.
Please use caution as you drive through our neighborhoods and parking lots. I am attaching our guidelines for morning drop off for parents who want to use the drive up and drop off line. This line is meant to be a slow flowing line that will not support families who are not able to exit the passenger side of the vehicle or who may need to get out of the driver's side of the car to assist their child. For these types of needs, please park in the front parking lot and escort your child across the crosswalk.
If you are picking up your child from school, there are two options: the curbside pick up line or the walk up pick up line. Both require parent identification and / or the bright colored campus card that indicates the names of the students you are picking up. This is a necessary requirement for pickup. You may secure your campus card in the front office.
If your child is a bus rider, please expect the bus to arrive a few minutes late as students learn to navigate their bus and their bus stop. Students who ride the bus will be given an identification card on a lanyard that they are required to wear each day to scan and gain access to the bus. Students will be issued the cards throughout August. Please help your child develop responsibility to keep track of this identification. It will have their name and picture, so responsibility is important. Please see transportation for any and all questions about these identification cards. 512-278-4085.
