Average Daily Attendance for SGE
Last Week's ADA for SGE: 91.01%
ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance and is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. Check out SGE's ADA trends in the chart above.
"98 IS Great!" We'll celebrate as a campus when we hit a week with 98% attendance!
We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able. Let's work for 98%!
January is School Board Recognition Month!
January is School Board Recognition month!
Governor Greg Abbott wrote, "Ensuring a quality education is the work of many, and school boards are a vital component of this success. These local leaders use their time, energy, and knowledge to set and review budgets; oversee the management of Texas' public and charter schools; and ensure that students receive an exemplary education. School board members play an integral role in promoting a lifelong love of learning in the next generation by collaborating with teachers, parents, and community members. They will continue to play a key role as we strive for educational excellence in the Lone Star State."
Please join us in showing appreciation for our BCISD board members:

January 20: Day of Service
Monday, January 20, 2025 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and for BCISD students, it is also a school day. Traditionally, BCISD has held school on MLK day to educate students about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his belief that "life's most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?'" The district’s goal is for "students to learn about the contributions and sacrifices of Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in service projects on their campus and around the community." The SGE plans are as follows:
- PreK will be spreading joy and warmth at Country Oaks Assisted Living by making Valentine cards and hosting a sock drive for the elderly residents.
- Kindergarten will be uplifting community helpers with cards and pictures.
- 1st grade will be collecting food and delivering it to LaCare.
- 2nd grade students will show appreciation for local nurses by making and delivering goodie bags.
First and 2nd grade students will be bring permission slips home!

1st Grade Dyslexia Screener
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Texas Education Code (§38.003) mandates that all first grade students be screened for dyslexia and related disorders no later than January 31, 2025. Prior to screening, all BCISD students receive instructional intervention through the Benchmark Phonics Program. The screening is designed to ensure that all students are appropriately screened, and if necessary, are evaluated further so that reading difficulties will be addressed in a timely manner. The results from the screening will be used to guide instruction at the classroom level, shared with you, and used to determine if additional interventions are required for your student.
If you have any questions about the screening process, please contact Ryan Morris at 512-715-5132
Thank you,
Burnet Consolidated Independent School District
