This is a reminder that all students at Wixom will receive a free yearbook at the end of the school year. If you would like the basic yearbook package, you do not need to order anything from the Lifetouch Yearbook emails or webpage. You may visit the Lifetouch Yearbook page (school code 2097725) if you would like to add extras like an autograph insert, stickers, current events page, or personalized cover. The price listed on that page reflects the cost of only the extras, the yearbook itself remains complimentary.

Our next PTA Meeting will be Tuesday, March 4th at 6:00 PM. All members of the PTA are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held in person in the Media Center. Childcare will be available. You can join the meeting virtually at the following link: https://meet.google.com/taa-bwcd-dgs

A bill called the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) was recently introduced in Congress. The bill would create the first ever nationalized voucher system, redirecting billions of taxpayer dollars away from public schools towards private and religious institutions and homeschooling.

The National PTA encourages families to contact your members of Congress, urging them to oppose ECCA.

• For approximately the first two weeks, Wix will attend school part time, which can be half days or 2-3 non-consecutive days per week.
• The leash remains on the therapy dog while visiting classrooms.
• During the introduction to school, Wix will always remain with the handler (Christina). The crate will be in the room during this time.
• Wix can walk to the office and in the halls on a leash with the handler. Students may wave as you pass by, but not pet during this time. Walking to FAPEs is a great time for Wix to practice walking on a leash in the halls and seeing others.
• At least half of the time at school, Wix will be in the crate.

Looking for an easy way to support our school? Shop for groceries at Kroger and they will contribute money to our PTA. It’s easy to sign up in the Kroger App:

1. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner

2. Choose “Rewards”

4. Search for “Wixom Elementary PTA” and enroll

In addition to receiving phone calls and email notifications from the school district in the event of a school closing or emergency, parents can also sign up to receive SMS Text messages.

If you do not have access to a computer at home for your child to use for iReady lessons,

please contact the school and we may be able to let you borrow a Chromebook. We have a limited number of Chromebooks available for students to borrow for the year.
