Due to a scheduling conflict with Pine Knob, the tentative date of Tuesday, June 3rd has now been moved to Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 7 p.m.
We understand that this change may cause disruptions to plans that have already been made, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of our venue’s availability.
Despite this change, we are very much looking forward to celebrating the success of our graduating class. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Congratulations Wind Ensemble
The LOHS Wind Ensemble was chosen as a featured ensemble at the 2025 Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids, MI on January 24-25. This is one of the highest honors that a school band/orchestra can receive in Michigan. As a final preparation for that performance, the LOHS Wind Ensemble will be performing a Send-Off concert in the LOHS Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. They will be performing all of the music for their featured performance, as well as premiering "Beauty of the Lotus", composed by LOHS Senior Sam Critchley, who was chosen to be featured at the Young Composers of Michigan Concert, also at the Michigan Music Conference.
Wand Protocol
Dear Parents and Students,
Reminder, starting Monday, January 13, Lake Orion Community Schools will implement a new policy regarding the use of metal detector wands at Lake Orion High School (LOHS).
The purpose of the wands will be used only when there is suspicion that a student may possess an object that could harm themselves or others; this includes vapes of all kinds. Our goal is to ensure a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement these measures to maintain a safe school environment. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school administration.
Sincerely,
Lake Orion Community Schools Administration

Parking Passes and Unauthorized Vehicles
Please take a moment to remind your child that students at Lake Orion High School are required to obtain a parking pass to park legally on campus. Recently, we’ve put up signs indicating that any unauthorized vehicles will be towed by Buckhorn, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter.
To ensure a smooth parking experience, students can purchase their parking passes before school or during lunch. We’ve noticed an increase in vehicles parked in unauthorized areas, so please remind your student to park only in designated spots.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our campus organized and safe!
For more information please visit the LOHS Student Parking website.

MLK 2025 Contest
Open for students in Grades K-12
Each year, the Cultural Outreach Committee strives to honor the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by offering something special to our community. This year, LOCS is excited to lift our students’ voices. We invite students to share their perspectives on Dr. King’s profound statement, “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly,” through various forms of expression, including short essays, poetry, multimedia, or artwork.
Dr. King’s vision of equality and justice continues to inspire us, and we believe that our students’ unique insights and creativity can contribute to this ongoing dialogue. By participating, students not only celebrate Dr. King’s legacy but also reflect on how his message resonates in today’s world.
For questions regarding this year's contest, please refer to the entry form.
Deadline is January 27, 2025
