All Kendallvue Students are Curious, Creative, and Confident Learners!
Rolling Into September
Dear Kendallvue Families,
Thank you for a great Back to School Night! It was wonderful to see new and familiar faces. It was also exciting to show everyone the new upgrades from our summer construction. Overall, we have new carpet throughout the school. There is new flooring in the gym, cafeteria, the art room. There is new lighting in all the classrooms along with new cabinets for extra storage. Of course, our main office received a total upgrade and our school is finally in the 21st century! Most importantly, I hope you were able to spend some quality time with teachers and learn a little about the daily experiences your child will have at our school.
This week our 4th and 5th grade students will be at Cal-Wood (just outside of Boulder). This will be an opportunity to create our new community through team-building experiences and outdoor adventures. We hope to have more outdoor experiences and explore our natural environment. This is why we live in Colorado! It also aligns with our mission of developing curious, creative, and confident learners because we know learning happens throughout our lives and in all sorts of different settings.
Last week were our flex-assessment days. We understand it is a challenge to navigate the flexible days, but this time with students provides our teachers with valuable information to help tailor our instruction for your student(s). We appreciate your willingness to bring in your students and help us with this endeavor.
Finally, we will adjust our lunch schedule this week to create a little more time for transitions in between lunch and recess. Lunch is always a challenge at the beginning of the year, especially for our youngest students. Once they learn the routines students typically have enough time for lunch. We have worked the last two weeks to try and find areas we can be more efficient in during lunch. We will monitor how this additional time works this week. I also understand the frustration with Red Rocks After Care. In speaking with their director last week, they are hopeful they can hire another person soon. As a result, they will be able to open up more spots. I will keep you posted as that happens.
It is going to be a great week!
Cheers,
Bruce Lindsey
Principal

Front Office Updates
- As per Jeffco Board Policy, we cannot have dogs on campus during school hours. We love our pets. However, we do have students who are allergic or afraid of animals. Pets are also unpredictable in crowded environments. I do not like to be the bearer of bad news, but please leave your pets at home when dropping off or picking up your students.
