September 11, 2024 - NEWSLETTER
Hello Centerview families!
I’m impressed! I walk through classrooms each day to greet students, talk about their learning and provide encouragement to staff as they engage each of our students. Our staff has a design mindset and they are each working to create a safe learner-centered environment that establishes expectations, sets routines and identifies personalized learning opportunities. It’s been fun and we are making great progress these first two weeks.
As was shared last week, we are setting the stage for our annual Passport for Learning event to be held on Thursday, September 26, 5:30-7:30 p.m. It will be a great opportunity to venture through Centerview and experience the curriculum and the daily personal experience of your student. More detailed information will be coming your way next week.
Finally, our drop-off and pick-up flow is starting to come together and becoming more natural for all. There are a couple of items to remember as you are lining up in the drop off / pick up zone.
- Be sure to park bumper to bumper as we need to maximize our space in each line.
- When a line is full, allow for enough room to turn to the right and start a new line.
- Have your number visible each time on your dashboard or visor.
Thank you for our patience. Our diligence and individual awareness will support those rainy and snowy days. We’ve been fortunate so far!
Have a great rest of the week. Let us know if you have any questions or need clarity on the start of our school year.
Take care,
Mike
Complete your review of student behavior and attendance expectations
Each year, we ask students and families to review student behavior and attendance expectations. After reviewing together, we ask families to acknowledge they have done so. This process helps set the tone for students as they begin the year and clarifies for students how we all expect them to conduct themselves each day at school.
Please take five minutes to log into Campus Parent Portal and review these expectations with your student.
- Log in to Campus with your district username and password.
- Select your student in the upper right corner.
- On the main menu click on DOCUMENT.
- Locate the Parent Documents section.
- Click on the 2024-2025 Behavior and Attendance Agreement.
- Review the document with your student.
- Sign and submit.
- Repeat these steps if you have more than one student in the district.
If you haven't done so already, please review at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about these expectations, reach out to your school principal.
