Weekly Update

Dear Masconomet Middle School Families,

As we embark on another April Vacation, we come back to the final stretch of the school year. Along with the warmer weather, students can look forward to various spring events and activities such as field days and the 8th grade Canobie Lake field trip at the end of the year. We also will be completing MCAS testing after vacation. Our 8th grade Moving On Ceremony will be held on the last day of school, June 13 at 8:15. More information to follow.

Whether you are staying local or traveling, I hope that you have a great vacation week!

Next Year's Washington DC Trip

This is a reminder to all 7th-grade parents that the deadline for guaranteeing a spot for your child on the 8th-grade Washington, DC trip is April 30. A deposit of $150 will hold their place on the trip. (After April 30, registration will be accepted only if room is left on a bus.) To register, go to Gerbertours.com, create an account, log in, and enter the Online Registration Code (56D4121B) to secure your child's spot. (Registration information is also posted on the trip's website: https://www.masconomet.org/domain/215. The registration link is on Page 3 of the packet.)

News from the Health Office

Eighth Grade Parents/Guardians -

If you have not yet given the nurse a copy of your child’s most recent physical exam for 8th grade, please do so by May 1st. Thank you!

School Choice Program 2025-2026

The Masconomet Regional School Committee has approved participation in the School Choice Program for the 2025-2026 school year. Admission through the School Choice program is only open to residents of Massachusetts. Additionally, a student must remain a resident of Massachusetts throughout their time at Masconomet Regional School District.

This application does not guarantee acceptance into the Masconomet Regional School District. This is an application to be considered for enrollment.

The School Committee has approved the following for the 2025-2026 school year:

• 10 slots for the 7th-grade class of 2031

You will receive an emailed copy of your responses to this survey. This indicates your application is complete, and you are in the lottery. This application will close on Thursday, May 8, 2025. If you do not receive this email, please get in touch with the school for further help; 978-887-2323.

Families will be notified, via email, if the student has been accepted or placed on the waitlist by May 12, 2025. You will have until May 16, 2025, to decide if you want to move forward with the School Choice enrollment.

Once confirmed by the Registrars, the next steps in the process will be discussed with you.

Teacher Appreciation Week:

The MASCO Parent Advisory Committee needs your help! PAC would like to provide raffle baskets for MASCO staff members to show our appreciation and to enhance the fun during the staff appreciation luncheon on May 7th. All staff members will be given their raffle tickets as they enter the cafeteria for their meal. PAC volunteers will pull and announce winners during dessert. Please help us make this day great for our staff by donating an entire raffle basket, an individual item we can add to a basket or volunteering your time. Raffle gift collection bins will be located in the main office of the Middle School from 4/1 to 4/30.
