Spring Carnival & Showcase April 24 4-7 pm
Come one, come all to the Spring Carnival and Showcase! We would love to bring families together for some fun and fellowship throughout our four parishes. Tickets for the games are 25 cents per ticket or 5 for a $1. Food will be available to purchase while you peruse student work in the lower hallway and the kids play the games.
Looking for an opportunity to earn service hours? Consider baking and decorating a cake for the cake walk Wednesday night. Anyone willing to donate a cake may bring it to the stage on Wednesday before the games start at 4:00.
Permission Slips for Missoula
Permission slips to attend the audition for King Arthur’s Quest April 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 at St. Teresa – Ossian will be coming home this week. If chosen for the play, students need to attend all rehearsals Monday through Friday. They will also need to be available for performances on Friday, May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. Students will not be excused from rehearsals or performances for practices, appointments, etc., but must keep the week completely free for this residency week. Students with larger roles will have a longer rehearsal time. Younger students will have rehearsal until 5:30 on their rehearsal days. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Robin Timp at rtimp@st-teresa.pvt.k12.ia.us or Michelle Brincks at mbrincks@st-teresa.pvt.k12.ia.us. The performances are open to the public and will be held at the South Winn High School auditorium. It is a free will donation to attend.
Author Visit
On Tuesday, we are fortunate to welcome an author to visit our young students in Ossian. Dakota Hruska, a native of Iowa, resides in the same town where she spent her childhood and now raises her family. From a young age, Dakota had a deep affection for horses, receiving her first pony, Moxie, at the age of 4. As she grew, her passion for crafting stories and inspiring others flourished.
During her childhood, Dakota and her father seized the opportunity to provide a home for a young Clydesdale colt in need, whom they fondly named 'Moose'. Despite his small stature as a few-month-old foal, Moose has since grown to towering heights, standing close to 18 hands tall, an impressive feat considering his initial size of just 12 hands.
Dakota will delight our students by sharing her collection of children's books, offering them the chance to embark on imaginative journeys through her storytelling. Order forms will be sent home for those interested in purchasing a copy of her books, ensuring that the magic of Dakota's tales can be cherished beyond her visit.
