📅 Mark Your Calendars for October 9th! It’s a big day for our Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors as they gear up for the PSAT Testing. Let’s cheer them on as they showcase their skills and knowledge! P.S. Don’t forget to remind your students to get a good night’s sleep before testing day! 🌙✨

Meanwhile, our amazing Seniors will be enjoying a well-deserved Senior Field Day! It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to bond, have fun, and celebrate all their hard work. 🎉And here’s the cherry on top: all students will be treated to Papa John’s Pizza for lunch! 🍕 Who doesn’t love a slice (or two) to fuel their day?

The counseling office is hosting College Bootcamp. This is a special presentation for parents of seniors for an overview of the college application process. They are offering presentations in English and Spanish. The English presentation will be on October 8th at 3 pm

AVC is hosting a field trip for seniors who are interested in attending AVC. AVC Transfer Day is on October 22. If you are interested in attending please pick up a permission slip from the activities desk in the administration office. Additionally, the district is hosting the annual College and Career fair at the fairgrounds on October 22, 4:30 PM -7:00 PM. These are great opportunties for students to explore and learn about options for college.

As always, tutoring is available for students seeking academic support. After School tutoring is available for all student Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:40pm - 4:30pm. Before school tutoring is available Monday-Friday from 7:40 am - 8:40 am.

La oficina de consejería está organizando College Bootcamp. Esta es una presentación especial para los padres de seniors sobre el proceso de solicitud a la universidad. Ofrecerán presentaciones en inglés y español. La presentación en inglés será el 8 de octubre a las 3 PM y la presentación en español será el 15 de octubre a las 3 PM. AVC está organizando una excursión para los seniors interesados en asistir a AVC. El Día de Transferencia de AVC será el 22 de octubre. Además, el distrito está organizando la feria anual de Colegio y Carrera en el recinto ferial el 22 de octubre de 4:30 PM a 7:00 PM. Estas son grandes oportunidades para que los estudiantes exploren y aprendan sobre opciones universitarias.

Como siempre, hay tutorías disponibles para los estudiantes que busquen apoyo académico. La tutoría después de la escuela está disponible para todos los estudiantes de lunes, miércoles, jueves y viernes de 3:40 PM a 4:30 PM. Does your student need additional social emotional support at EHS? EHS offers many on campus student support groups to support our Lions through the many issues today's teens may be dealing with. If you would like to refer your student for a student support group, please scan the QR code and complete the google form.

Some examples of Student Support Groups offered at EHS are:

Mood Group, Anxiety, Life Skills, Anger Management, Grief/Loss, Conflict Resolution, and Substance Abuse.

You can also use the form to suggest a group your student may benefit from.

Scholarships and grants are helpful ways to fund your child’s college education. They provide you with free money that can go towards tuition or other educational expenses.This year we have partnered with Going Merry to make completing the FAFSA and finding scholarships easier than ever! Please have your student go to the School Counseling Office for assistance.

EHS parents/guardians have three options for viewing their student's grades, assignments, and attendance.

1. AV High School District App (Lion Link) - This app gives you new, information, as well as your student's progress. It is available on both the Apple App Store and Google App Store. When in the app store, search for AVUHSD and download the app.
2. PowerSchool App - This app ties right into your PowerSchool Parent Portal. You will get live updates on grades, assignments, and attendance. This app is also found on the Apple App Store and Google App Store. Search for PowerSchool and use district code: NWMZ.

There are some helpful links below to get your PowerSchool Parent Portal account set up for the school year.

If you need to clear an absence, please email the EHS Attendance office at ehs-attendance@avhsd.org. Make sure to include your student's name, student ID number, date of absence, reason for the absence, your name, and relationship to the student. You may also call the attendance office at 661-946-3800 Extensions 1050 (A-L) and 1045 (M-Z).
