RCE Comet Parent Update
January 2025 Edition
From Your Principal
Happy New Year, Crippen Families!
We are so grateful to have every student back from Christmas break and ready to jump into a successful 2025. As we kick off the second semester, we are thrilled to see our Crippen Astronauts achieving at higher levels than ever before and consistently following our SOAR expectations.
Our goal by the end of this school year is for every student to achieve at least a year’s worth of academic growth. To reach this milestone, we need your continued support. It’s important for students to be at school on time each day (as long as they are healthy) and remain here until the end of the day. At home, we encourage you to read with your child every night and practice math facts regularly.
Also, please take a moment to check our school’s lost and found, as we have accumulated many jackets, coats, and hoodies that students may need in the colder weather. Any unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity by the end of the month.
Thank you for your partnership in helping our students shine bright. Together, we will make this semester out of this world!
Sincerely,
Teresa Brent
Principal
NCISD Rodeo Art Competition
Congratulations to the 11 students selected to represent Crippen Elementary at the New Caney ISD Rodeo Art competition. We can’t show you who they are yet, but 5 of the 12 elementary finalists are our very own Crippen Astronauts! Their art advances to the next level of judging at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. We will update you soon with their results.
Congratulations to all and best of luck to those who advanced!
