FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Today, our middle school students participated in our first Friendzy lesson, and we will officially launch the Friendzy program for all students in grades PK-8 next week. I'm tremendously excited to begin this new endeavor in our school community.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Friendzy, the program provides simple, memorable ways for your student to learn and practice God's design for friendship. Every month we will introduce the entire school community to one Catchphrase and two corresponding Key Verses for students to learn and practice. In class, we will spend 20-40 minutes weekly focusing on the Catchphrase and Key Verses with activities, games, and group discussions.
The Catchphrase for our first unit is "We Need Each Other!" The goal of the unit is to create a culture of building up versus tearing down. Throughout the next four to five weeks, students will be learning more about God's design for friendship, how we are stronger and better together, and the power of encouragement!
For more information, and to see how you can continue the Friendzy conversation at home with your student, please see the Friendzy Parent Newsletter here. I'll be sending home a Newsletter each month with the new theme and catchphrase, so stay tuned!

FJVD Walk-a-thon September 28, 2023
We're excited to announce that the 2023 Father John V. Doyle School Walk-a-thon will be held Thursday, September 28th. Each class will have a chance to complete their walk/run during the school day along with other fun activities to celebrate the event. To view our special, annual Walk-a-thon kick-off video, click here.
Proceeds from last year's Walk-A-Thon went to support student needs, including but not limited to upgrades to our outdoor recess spaces. This year we will continue to enhance the student experience with an emphasis on addressing specific classroom needs across the grade levels. With your help, we can once again help transform our school for the better!
