A Note from Admin
Hey Sharks!
Can you believe we're already in the last week of state testing and only 25 days away from summer? Time flies when you're having fun (and when you’re super busy)! You all have been doing an outstanding job, and we're on the home stretch now.
As we wrap up testing, let's keep our focus sharp and help our students do the same. It’s super important to stick to our daily schedules and keep classroom routines consistent to help our kiddos stay on track.
Let's also keep an eye on behavior; maintaining a calm and orderly environment will help everyone perform their best. I know it’s a group effort, and your hard work doesn't go unnoticed!
Thanks for everything you do—let’s finish strong and make these last few weeks as smooth and successful as they can be. If you need anything or have any concerns, you know where to find your admin team! We're also busy wrapping up this outstanding school year and planning for the even better one that's coming next year!
-Admin Team
This week is the final week of state testing, unless make up testing rolls into the following week. Students will be taking the STAAR Math Tests. Please check your emails and the schedule daily as you may be on the schedule to support teachers and staff as a monitor or to cover lunch duties. Let's continue to provide the best testing environment for our students and show them our support.
Below are the tentative testing schedules for this week. They are subject to change so make sure to check them the night before and the day of testing.
*Check details daily as changes may be made.

Campus Behavior Intervention Newsletter
If you are needing strategies to use for students who are having continuous behavioral challenges in your classroom, you may want to refer to the district’s behavior resource site: Behavior Resources (google.com) and begin interventions, add them to eSTAR under MTSS for behavior if they are not receiving Special Education or 504 services, and inform Ms. Ballard.
If you want to consult with the campus behavior interventionist, Aucher Lewis, please click on the QR code or this link to make that request: CBI Request Form.
RETENTION Timeline & Process
It's that time of year already where we need to identify struggling students who are at risk of being retained and push them to make gains before the end of the school year! It's important to track their progress and conference with parents to work together to help these students. Here are 9 ways for helping failing students.
The retention timeline and process was explained at the last faculty meeting. The timeline, the spreadsheet of students who are possible retentions, the parent conference forms, and the Light's Retention Scale are posted in the Sea of Information under the Retention column. If you have any questions or concerns about the process or students, please see your grade level assistant principal.
