I.G.N.I.T.E. Members Volunteer as Santa's Elves
I.G.N.I.T.E. members Lailani Hart, Hailey Stewart and Laila McNair volunteered as Santa's elves for Smithfield and I.O.W Tourism over the holiday break. "Thank you for sending Hailey, Lailani and Laila to assist with the Santa Line at the Nov. 23 Mistletoe Market! They were delightful. Over 300 children visited with Santa at the event that drew record numbers to our downtown stores and restaurants," said Connie Chapman.
Chorus and Choral Boosters Participate in Mistletoe Marketplace
The SHS Chorus and Choral Boosters took part in the Smithfield Mistletoe Marketplace on Saturday, November 23 on Main Street in Smithfield. Chorus families donated baked goods and volunteered to sell them at the Chorus booth all day amidst a vast array of vendors’ booths decorated for the holiday season. The Choraliers ensemble performed a selection of songs from their upcoming Christ Episcopal Church performances, and Concert Chorus members joined them for a couple of songs as well. Thank you to all who supported us that day!

Impact Aid Survey
Isle of Wight County Schools is currently participating in the federal government's Impact Aid Program. Impact Aid is a federal grant program designed to help pay for the education of federally connected children. The amount of funding is based on the number of IWCS students whose parents are connected with the federal government. To determine if our school system is eligible for funding, each school will need to conduct a survey. The information from these surveys will be used to support our request for Impact Aid funds. The forms are being sent home with each student's report card. A copy of the form is also attached to this e-mail. All information that you provide on the Impact Aid Program Survey Form will be treated confidentially.
Please return the signed form to your child’s school by December 9, 2024.
Thank you for your assistance with ensuring we have proper documentation for our Impact Aid application.
