Workshop Summary
Please join parent training specialist Sassafrass Mittleman on Friday, May 10th at 6 Pm (EST), as we discuss transition and what it means to the IEP and services.
The Transition IEP is the most important part when it comes to helping youth with disabilities learn how to successfully transition from high school to post-secondary opportunities. This workshop helps to teach everyone exactly how to make the most of the TIEP, and how to best work with youth with disabilities to make sure they have the tools and information to fulfill their post-secondary goals.

Sassafrass is a Parent Training Specialist for Parents Offering Parents Information & Networking (POPIN), the panhandle program of Family Network on Disabilities (FND). Having graduated with honors with an AS in Allied Health (nursing) from TCC, a BA from Flagler College for Elementary Education K-8, a BA in Exceptional Student Education K-12, and a BA in Business, Sassafrass holds a diverse knowledge base in human development and exceptional student education in all it's facets. Sassafrass has worked in the ESE (K-12), and Title I (low income) Early Education fields, both as a teacher and advocate, but also sat on the side of the parent; with two adult children with disabilities.
POPIN-Parents Offering Parents Information & Networking
We assist parents with no-cost, up-to-date, and vetted knowledge about the IDEA, the IEP process, the transition from Early Steps to the Voluntary Pre-K Program for Students with Disabilities, transition out of school and into the community, as well as disability-related community and governmental resources. Best of all, we here at FND, are all the parents of children with special needs and give a more rounded view of all the options and resources available to us!
