"WELCOME TO LIVINGSTON" EVENT IS A SUCCESS!
The Township of Livingston revived its annual Welcome to Livingston event with a lively community gathering at the Senior/Community Center on Tuesday, September 19th! This year's event featured refreshments and giveaways, and included representatives of various township departments and organizations, including LPS!
Welcome to Livingston offered a "one-stop shopping" experience for Livingston residents who have moved into town within the past year to learn about all their new community has to offer. Approximately 200 people registered for the event, which was organized by Anakaren Millan of the Livingston Health Department.
LPS always has a table and representatives on hand to greet new residents at this event. This year, the district added a "break-out room" where new parents and students could watch a short "Welcome to LPS" video, and attend presentations on Special Education, School Counseling and English as a Second Language (ESL). New residents also had the opportunity to meet and chat with school administrators and Board of Education members at the event.

PROCESS FOR ADDRESSING PARENT CONCERNS
Livingston Public Schools strives to respond to concerns and/or questions as quickly and effectively as possible. In a school system, as in any organization, the “chain of command” refers to communication levels of authority in the school district. The philosophy behind the chart in the link below is to refer community members to those people in the organization who can best solve any concerns or questions that may arise, and then direct them to the appropriate people if issues are not able to be effectively addressed at the first level.
