FCMS EXPRESS
Week of September 2, 2024
From Mr. Liggett
FCMS,
Hello everyone, I have some good news to share with you. Starting on Monday, September 9, there will be a FREE breakfast available for all FCMS students. When students enter the building there will be three serving carts for students to grab a breakfast bag to take with them to their 1st period class. We appreciate the food service for giving our students a free breakfast daily.
On another note, I would like to recognize our "Students of the Month", Brodee Andre (6th grade), Stella Bruns (7th grade) and Jakob Kolter (8th grade). These three students were recognized by our FCMS teachers as being outstanding students as well as being good role models.
Finally, I would like to recognize our "Teachers of the Month" Clark Sherwood and Gregg Sells. Mr. Sherwood and Mr. Sells were voted this accolade by the students at FCMS. We are so thankful to have these great educators in our school.

From Mr. Sherwood:
The sixth grade made amazing Honor Flight cards for the veterans who will be leaving Indianapolis and heading to our nation's capital this September. The veterans aboard the flight will be given cards made by our very own 6th graders from FCMS. What an honor to honor our veterans!!!
Honor Flights are an opportunity to honor and thank the Americans who secured our freedom by bringing them to the nation’s capital to see the memorials that commemorate their service. Since 2005, the Honor Flight Network has helped make it possible for more than 200,000 veterans from all services to visit Washington and other memorial sites from more than 130 locations across the country.
FCA
This week at FCA, we had 18 students in attendance--4 of those kids had never been to an FCA meeting before. The kids requested a lesson about anger this week, so we learned what God says about feeling anger towards others. We learned that according to God, harsh words destroy. We should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. The Bible also says not to let the sun go down on our wrath, which means not to hold on to our anger, but to try to talk about it and deal with the situation rather than allowing it to fester and build within us and make us bitter. In the end, we are to "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ Jesus forgave us." It was another great week in FCA, so if anyone is interested, please feel free to join us next Friday at 7:45 in the library for snacks and the next lesson. We'd love to have anyone interested--student or staff!
