Course 4617 : Maximizing the Effectiveness of the BG K-4 Literacy Framework
This foundational course is intended for K-4 teachers new to the profession, K-4 teachers new to the district, or experienced K-4 teachers just wanting a refresher. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the various components of our BG Literacy Model. Based on a balanced literacy approach, instructors will provide guidance and expertise on how to maximize each component of the framework as well as how components support one another as a whole. Please note sessions 1, 3 and 4 are two hours in length. Session 2 is only one hour and most appropriate for K-1 teachers, though all are welcome to attend! Course 4609 : Managing the Digital Classroom
Attendees will learn how to manage the contemporary classroom infused with technology. They will learn how to use the learning management system Google Classroom, and how Google Forms can be a part of daily tasks going beyond just assessment. Discover behavior management tools such as Classcraft and Class Dojo, and easy ways to communicate with parents and their students outside of the school day. Learn how to use Hapara Highlights to focus and filter browsing in your class. Begin the process of adapting classroom norms to fit technology in a natural way and organizing the physical space of the classroom to allow technology to function appropriately. Presented by EdTech instructors Cassondra Tinsley and Tyler Tugaw. Earn up to 3 clock hours.

Course 4595 : ENVoY - Fostering and Managing a Safe, Positive Learning Environment
This interactive ENVoY workshop models the effectiveness of routine and systematic non-verbal communication in managing student behavior in the classroom. Learn to foster positive teacher/student and student/student relationships to establish a learning community in which academic risk-taking is a safe, exciting component of learning. These strategies will allow you to manage student behavior through influence rather than power. Presented by JoAnne Morrow from ESD 112. Earn up to 8 clock hours.
