Theodore Academy Ambassadors Excel at Leadership Training
A group of Theodore’s Academy Ambassadors had an exciting and productive day at the University of South Alabama, participating in a leadership training event.
During the training, students engaged with USA’s Student Government Association (SGA), Southerners, and Academy Ambassadors from other MCPSS high schools. It was a fantastic opportunity for networking and leadership development. The day included discussions about what makes Theodore High School unique, highlighting its positive qualities. Students also learned about the environments and programs at other MCPSS schools, broadening their perspectives. USA ambassadors led campus tours, providing our students with valuable insights on how to conduct professional and engaging tours of their own.
This experience not only strengthened leadership skills but also inspired our Ambassadors to bring fresh ideas back to Theodore. Great job representing our school!
JROTC Cadets Lead by Example in Community and Veterans’ Activities
Over the past month, JROTC cadets have been hard at work making a positive impact on the community and honoring our nation’s veterans. Despite facing weather challenges, their efforts were an undeniable success, showcasing their dedication and selfless service.
The cadets participated in several activities leading up to Veterans Day.
- Veterans Tribute at the University of South Alabama: A heartfelt event honoring military service.
- Color Guard Presentations: Supporting organizations like the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Church of Christ Veterans Group with professionalism and pride.
- Flags of Glory Ceremony: Cadets helped organize and repair 350 flags for this powerful tribute.
- Veterans Day Luncheon: A meaningful opportunity for cadets to hear veterans' stories, fostering a deeper understanding of military service and inspiring future generations to serve.
The cadets’ contributions, often on weekends and during their scheduled days off, highlight their commitment to service beyond the classroom. In addition to the Veteran's Day activities, they also contributed to the community by helping clean-up the Fair Grounds. Their efforts have not only enriched the community but also strengthened the connection between generations, preserving the legacy of those who have served.
JROTC continues to exemplify leadership, teamwork, and patriotism—qualities that shine brightly in every initiative they undertake.
