MUSTANG SPEECH TEAM
The Speech Team was at Stillwater for the first invitational of the season and had 10 finalists! Maryam Shahkhan, Ivy Lee, Nadyne Sattar, Nandana Nambiar, Lennox Tan, Ella Kirubarkern, Katherine Anderson, Daniel Tong, Hadley Powers, and Emmett Heilman who placed 1st in his category!
MUSTANG NORDIC SKI
The Nordic ski team raced in the Mesabi Invite which is the largest high school race in the U.S. with over 750 skiers and 47 teams. The boys team was 12th and girls team was 14th. Owen Kalmes won 1st in the Varsity Classic, Riley Fields 63rd, and Ian Gamson was 71st while Jackson Ashbach was 31st, Hunter Miller 44th, and Olen Hammerbeck was 79th in skate race. Margot Derosier was 19th, Bria Mills 21st , and Maddie Dornfeld 42nd in Girls Classic while Claire Secord was 57th, Noelle Boyd 65th, and Emma Stupar 71st in the skate race. The JV boys team was 6th and girls team was 12th.
MUSTANG BOYS SWIM & DIVE
The Boys Swim & Dive team took 2nd place honors in the True Team section meet on Saturday. Many swimmers had season best times and finished in the top 8! A few notable performances were by Danny Bai with 1st place in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Luke Schmitzer earning 2nd in the 500 free, and Micah Prindle achieved 2nd place in the diving competition. Way to go Mustangs!
MUSTANG WRESTLING
Congratulations to The Mustang Wrestling Team on winning the Mustang Duals over the weekend! The Mustangs went 4-0 on the day with wins over #12 River Falls, Blaine, Edina, and topped Maple Grove in the Finals. Going 4-0 on the day for the Mustangs were Will Schnieder, Eli Claseman, Colton Loween, Caden Grenier, and Ethan Swenson. Ethan Swenson finished the dual up with a win over the #2 215 pounder in the state from Maple Grove.
SENIOR CLASS - YEARBOOK AD (optional)
The cost: Payment is collected at yearbookforever.com and is $40.00 per student. There is a limit of one (1) ad per student. We are unable to process partial payments or print multiple ads for one student.
The message: The ad message length limit is 300 characters for the body of the message (the headline is 50 characters and will be your student’s first and last name). This includes letters, spaces, and punctuation.
The photo: Upload a favorite childhood photo of your senior to yearbookforever.com when you purchase the ad. We may need to crop the photo to fit the space.
How do I do this?
Step 1. Go to yearbookforever.com to purchase a Senior Ad before January 15, 2025.
Step 2. Search for our school name and click on Shop the Store.
Step 3. Select Create a Senior Ad.
Step 4. Enter your student’s information and your frequently used email address.
Step 5. Select “Have the School Design My Ad ” and the ad size (⅛ page).
Step 6. Upload a photo and enter your message to your senior!
Step 7. Review your ad and checkout.
Purchase and submit your baby ad NO LATER than January 15, 2025. We are unable to accept late submissions due to production deadlines.
**DO NOT EMAIL or MAIL your submissions or messages to MVHS--they will NOT be included in the yearbook. We will only accept online submissions through our yearbook publisher, Walsworth, at yearbookforever.com.**

GIRLS BASKETBALL: You have two chances to cheer the Girls Basketball Team on to victory this week! First a road trip to Woodbury High School on Wednesday (1/15). Tip off is at 7:00 PM. Then they are back home on Friday (1/17) to take on Cretin-Derham Hall. Tip off is at 7:00 PM on Kauls Court. Hope to see you there! Go Mustangs! ALL-1N!

Your Mustangs face two more tough conference games this week as we take on Woodbury on Wednesday (1/15) at 7:00 PM for Varsity (5:30 PM for JV/9B and 4:00 PM for B-Team/9A) at Kaul’s Court. And, then the Mustangs face the currently undefeated #1 team in the state, Cretin Derham Hall on Friday (1/17) at 7:00 PM (5:30 PM for JV/9B and 4:00PM for B-Team/9A).

MLK COMMUNITY DAY OF SERVICE
The Shoreview/Arden Hills Lions Club is hosting the 3rd Annual MLK Community Day of Service on Monday (1/20) from 9-12 PM at the Shoreview Community Center. It will be a morning of food, fun, and hands-on projects for all ages that will benefit organizations in the community. No Cost. Examples of what projects we will offer are:
- Snack bags & laundry soap bags for Ralph Reeder Food Shelf
- Tying Blankets for the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital (Childhood Cancer)
- Self Esteem Bookmarks & Cards
