ECHS Weekly update
February 14, 2025
Message from your school counselor - Lakisha Bostick
Happy Valentines Day! Monday, February 17th is a DPS workday. There will be no high school classes on Monday, but NCCU classes will operate as normal. Please have transportation in place to attend your college classes as no school buses will run.
I have completed all individual meetings minus a few absent students. I hope to get those last few meetings completed next week. Ms. Wilder, our college liaison, will begin meeting with all current Sophomores and Juniors the week of February 24th. Please click on the appropriate hyperlink to schedule your appointment. Remember, this meeting will be virtual and it is helpful to come to the meeting prepared with classes you would like to take.
Seniors, today is the deadline for the SECU scholarship. Please download and email your completed application to me by the end of the day.
The second of 5 drawings took place earlier this month for seniors who completed their FASA application. Our second winner, Xavier Sanchez, won a free senior trip. If you did not win this month, we will do another drawing next month. Seniors, please complete your FASA as soon as possible if you have not already done so. If you need help, there is a flyer in this newsletter with dates that the Emily K Center will be available to help and you can always reach out to Ms. Jang for assistance as well. Please continue to forward or screenshot all acceptances and scholarship awards to me through email or remind. Here are the acceptances that I have so far. Congratulations to all of you and I am looking forward to many more submissions.
If you have not ordered your cap and gown, please do so as soon as possible. Graduation will take place on Wednesday, May 28th. You will need a cap and gown in order to participate in the ceremony. If you are having financial difficulties or do not plan to participate, please let me know.
Make sure you purchase your yearbook. All yearbooks must be purchased online through the Jostens website. You will just click on yearbook and then order my yearbook. Also, the yearbook needs more pictures of upperclassmen. Please click Here to submit pictures for the yearbook.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
