A NOTE FROM MISSY
Let's Help the Children Fill the Baskets!
Children's Ministry will be delivering 250+ Easter Baskets to the children in the Charleston community as an Easter surprise. The children are grateful for your contributions thus far, but need MORE CHOCOLATE BUNNIES! Please deliver CHOCOLATE BUNNIES to Hope's office this SUNDAY in preparation for the annual basket stuffing beginning next week. Thank you!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS -- SUNDAY, MARCH 30TH
John Wesley celebrates a day of worship, music, and fellowship on Sunday, March 30th. Be a part of the one-time choir, The 5th Sunday Singers, to joyfully join in song during the worship services. In addition to a more casual atmosphere during worship, there will be no Sunday School on March 30th as we join together for yummy treats and friendly conversations. Bring a brunch or breakfast item to share during the 5th Sunday Campmeeting Celebration Covered Dish Brunch in the Gym during the Sunday School hour, 9:45-10:45.
5th Sunday Singers @ the 5th Sunday Campmeeting Celebration
Whether it's singing the old hymns, listening to a personal testimony, or eating from a "covered dish," 5th Sunday Campmeeting Celebrations at John Wesley UMC reminds us of "campmeeting" where families and friends gathered for good faith, good food, and good fun. Join the 5th Sunday Singers to celebrate through song some of our favorite hymns: I'll Fly Away, When the Saints Go Marching In, When the Roll is Called Up Yonder, and more! The one-time choir will practice briefly on Wednesday, March 26th during WNO and then sing together during the 5th Sunday Celebration on March 30th. We hope you will join us!
Invite a Friend to the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at John Wesley!
Children and grandchildren, friends and neighbors enjoy the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at John Wesley every spring. Hope to see you and your "littles" on the lawn at John Wesley for a day of Easter fun!
Celebration of Women Retreat at John Wesley UMC!
The UWF's Celebration of Women Retreat on May 10th will provide an opportunity to hear from author and speaker Sherry Bradshaw from Back9 Ministries while engaging in fellowship with other women. You can read more about Back9's mission below:
Encouraging others to be all that God created them to be so they can lead lives of significance.
The Back Nine carries a special connotation for Sherry. For some golfers, it represents a second chance, another opportunity to improve a less than stellar score. For others, it is the home stretch following a great start. For this golfing Mom, it is her opportunity to share her successes, struggles, and failures, or as Sherry calls them, the birdies, pars, and bogies of her life. These experiences, filtered through the fingers of God, have given Sherry the ability to encourage, strengthen, and motivate others as they face trials in their own lives. God has a purpose for each and every person created in His image. She wants to help those within her sphere of influence to effectively navigate the fairways of life while also finding the significance that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We hope you will join John Wesley UMC's United Women of Faith for a Saturday of faith, fun, and fellowship with Sherry Bradshaw! Reserve your spot by registering now.
