READ AND RESPONSE HOMEWORK
Read and Response Sheets are sent home weekly on Monday. Students are expected to read 20 minutes for four nights in 1st-5th grade. Sheets are due the following Monday. This is to give students more flexibility to use the weekend to read. Students in Roots classes should be reading the provided books. Wings students can read choice books but will need to provide a short reaction from the reader. Both groups should be reading to someone.
Our Parent/Family Engagement Team's GOAL for our students is: During the first quarter 100% of students will turn in their read and response homework 100% of the time, with 100% meaning students read 4 nights per week. LET'S GO JEFFERSON! 🎉
We Want YOUR Feedback!
At Jefferson Elementary, we value your feedback and want to hear from you! Our QR code provides a quick and easy way for you to share celebrations, ask questions, or voice any concerns. Rest assured, everything you share will be read within 5 school days, helping us stay connected and responsive to our community’s needs. Your voice matters!
Simply scan this QR code with your phone to share your thoughts! We look forward to hearing from you!
A Message From Mrs. Delsman, Our Principal
What a great start to the school year and we could not have done it without you! Our staff and students continue to make connections and relationships with each other to make a solid community. Please look at our upcoming events so you can participate in them as we would LOVE to have you and your family there! We share so much on social media so if you have not yet, please follow us on Facebook! If you move and/or change your phone number/email, please call our main office (920) 663-9530 to update your personal information. This helps us so much because we use your information to send out messages through IC (Infinite Campus) as well as Staff like to call or reach out to share celebrations too. Here's to an amazing 2024-25 School Year!
From our Jefferson Community: THANK YOU MRS. DELSMAN for all you do for our Jefferson Community and enjoy October being: PRINCIPALS MONTH! 🎃🎉
Here's a fact about attendance:
Being absent in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.
Current Data
Students ON TIME (8:10am) 79%
Students PRESENT every day 96%
Jefferson's ATTENDANCE GOAL: By the end of Quarter 1, our team will reduce the percentage of students not attending from 4% to 3% by implementing targeted outreach and support strategies.
If you have any questions or needs that you feel we can help with, you can reach out to your child's teacher and they will make sure that your message goes to the right person or they may even have an idea that may help.

Success For All: Getting Along Together (GAT)
The purpose of GAT is to facilitate "Cooperative Challenges" that keep the skill (see below) alive all week until your child/ren master and internalize the skill. These are all skills that can be practiced at home as well.
Week 5 (October 7): Demonstrate a focus strategy.
Week 6 (October 14): Demonstrate a stop and think strategy.
Week 7 (October 21): Use "I" Messages.
Week 8 (October 28): Practice apologizing.
Cooperative Culture Team Goal
Students can earn puzzle pieces by being caught using the school wide Cooperative Challenge (introduced and talked about each week in the morning announcements). They can also earn puzzle pieces if students are actively working on the classroom goal (decided on by the class during Class Council).
- Earn puzzle pieces for working on weekly cooperative challenge or classroom goal
- Complete your Griffin Puzzle #1 = piece on the enlarged Jefferson Griffin Puzzle
- Complete your Griffin Puzzle #2 = extra recess
- Complete Jefferson Griffin Puzzle = reward of your choice
Office News
From Ms. Drida and Mrs. Morris:
Phone calls to the school
The start and the end of the day are very busy in the office. If you are calling the office please leave a message on our voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you're calling about a student absence please call our attendance line directly at 920 663-9529 and leave a voicemail.
Phone messages for students
When it is necessary to give your child an emergency message at the end of the day for a transportation change or early pick-up, we ask that you please notify your child's teacher via their classroom platform (class dojo/email) as well as the school office. If at all possible, please have these arrangements made in the morning so you are able to let your child know the plan at that time. Classroom instruction continues until 3:10, so valuable time is lost when office staff interrupts class to pass along messages.Thank you for your support with these matters.
Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found is growing! Please remind your child to look for what they are missing in the Rotunda area on the first floor.
