Dear Amazing VC Families,

I want to take a moment to thank you all for another fantastic week at Valley Creek! It’s been a great week of learning, growth, and community, and we truly appreciate your continued support.

Looking ahead, we have some exciting events that we’re thrilled to share with you:

• Tomorrow, March 29th: Join us for MHS Baseball Little Lions Day at Ron Poe Stadium! Come enjoy the game, hear our award-winning VC Choir sing the national anthem, and watch Yours Truly, Dr. King, throw the first pitch! Make sure to be there by 12:30 PM, as the game starts at 1 PM. It’s going to be a fun time for the whole family!
• Next Tuesday, April 1st: Don’t miss our VC Open House from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about what’s happening at VC and meet with our staff.
• Next Saturday, April 5th: End the week with some family fun at the VC Carnival from 4:30 - 6:30 PM, followed by Movie Night at 7 PM. We will be collecting food items to support La Tiendita, which helps McKinney families in need.

Dear Valley Creek Parents,

To ensure we best meet the needs of your Valley Creek Cougar, we invite you to complete the attached Student Information Form. As parents, you have valuable insight into your child’s strengths, needs, and preferences, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. This will help us make the best placement for your child for the upcoming school year.

While we value your input, please note that we are unable to accept specific teacher requests. This form will be your only opportunity to provide input, so we encourage you to complete and return it by April 11th.

Student Information Form

We encourage parents and guardians to complete their returning student's registration as soon as possible. This will help in planning our class lists for next year.

We appreciate your cooperation in completing this in a timely manner!

Thank you for your compliance and understanding as we follow these district security protocols:

• A valid state or government issued photo ID must be presented each time you visit, volunteer, or pick up a student.
• Please be prepared to present your physical ID upon arrival.
• We are not be able to accept photos of ID's on phones.
• We will not be able to admit anyone to volunteer, visit, or pick up a student that does not present their physical ID.

• A background check is required each school year for people wanting to volunteer in McKinney ISD.
• This includes making copies, PTA events, lunch duty coverage, classroom parties, field trips, and other volunteering that takes place inside and outside our building.
• We encourage all parents and guardians to complete your volunteer application as soon as possible to avoid any delay in the processing.
• Anyone that has not completed a volunteer application and had it approved will not be able to volunteer in any capacity inside or outside of our building.

Also - VCE Students wearing a VCE spirit shirt will get in free!

Tuesday April 1st - 6:00pm - 7:00pm - Open House - Teachers will be in classrooms to showcase student work. Cafeteria will be open for parents to check for Lost and Found items!

Thursday April 3rd - Special Olympics - Track and Field @ Ron Poe - Good luck to our McKinney Mavericks!

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone:

Who’s Invited: Parents/guardians, grandparents, students, and siblings.

Friendly Reminder: Parents/guardians must remain with their students throughout the event. Our staff will be stationed throughout the campus to welcome and assist families, while teachers will be in their classrooms ready to showcase student learning. Our staff will be busy welcoming families and showcasing student work, so we kindly ask parents to supervise their children at all times. McKinney ISD staff cannot accept responsibility for looking after students during Open House.
