Congratulations to the October Optimist Student of the Month!
We are thrilled to announce that Hannah Case is our Student of the Month! Hannah’s unwavering optimism and positive attitude have made a remarkable impact on our school community.
From the moment she steps into the classroom, Hannah brings a bright energy that inspires her peers. Whether she’s tackling a challenging assignment or encouraging her classmates during group work, her can-do spirit is infectious. Hannah approaches each task with a smile, reminding us all that challenges are simply opportunities for growth.
Beyond academics, Hannah is an amazing artist, always uplifting others and fostering a sense of camaraderie. Her ability to see the silver lining in every situation helps create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.
Hannah’s kindness and encouragement don’t go unnoticed. She often takes the time to check in on friends who might be feeling down, offering words of support that lift their spirits. Her optimistic outlook not only enhances her own experiences but also enriches the lives of those around her.
Congratulations, Hannah! Your positivity and determination are truly commendable, and we are excited to see how you will continue to shine in the future. Keep spreading that joy!
The A.P. Briefing
Congratulations to 2nd Grade for the achieving the school's highest 96.2% attendance percentage! Close behind are last year's champion's Grade 5 with 95.5%.
Now that we are 45 days into the school year, I have printed and sent out the first round of attendance letters. These letters are meant to serve as a tool to inform students, parents and families of the total amount of school days missed at this point in the year. Students who have missed at least 10% of the school year will receive notification. It is also important to note that at the beginning of the year, it does not take many absences to reach that threshold. If your student has missed 4.5 days or more for any reason, excused or unexcused, they will receive a letter.
Our goal is 95% attendance for everyone. We were short by 1 percentage point for the month of October. Let's get that point back for the month of November, and remember that if your child does have to miss school for illness or an appointment please make sure and notify the school via phone call, or email, or our new feature Reach my Teach! The Reach my Teach platform both emails and texts parents and guardians when their child is marked absent from school, and gives you the opportunity to verify and excuse the absence by selecting or entering a reason.
Thank you so much for your continued support of your child's school attendance.

Driveline Reminders!
- Please SLOW DOWN when in the driveline!
- Remember to alternately merge from 2 line into 1 when you are approaching the final turn before loading students. If you don't merge correctly, the students will be lined up in the wrong order.
- If you are not absolutely positive of your driveline number...DON'T GUESS! We can easily look it up to be certain.
- And please remember to help your children quickly unload in the mornings.
P.B.I.S. @ P.C.S.
At Poland Community School, we will strive to teach clear and constant expectations to
promote a positive school community, where we encourage respectful, responsible, and
safe behavior to enhance all academic experiences.
Our P.B.I.S. team monitors data and creates behavior lessons that are taught and reviewed throughout the year, and organizes school-wide incentives designed to celebrate positive behavior throughout the year.
For November, we are working to earn a school-wide outdoor dance party! We are specifically working to decrease the amount of physical aggression and defiance incidents, as those are our two most frequently occurring behaviors. We would appreciate your support in helping our students achieve this goal!
