Social Studies: Mr. Cahn
Social Studies
This week we’ve wrapped up our study of African Kingdoms during the Middle Ages, with a particular focus on West Africa–Ghana, Mali, and Songhai.
Students have created some spectacular products for their West Africa Culture Project, which has been going on in the background during our two testing weeks.
We’ll finish the year with about a week studying the feudal period in Japan–think samurai and castles, but also art and poetry. If time permits we’ll be writing Haiku one day and doing some origami on the last day of class.
This has been a truly enjoyable year for me and I will miss this class tremendously, but I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful things they will go on to do in high school and beyond.
ELA: Mr. Sbisa
ELA
Students have learned what a conditional argument is, and are utilizing this strategy in their final paper of middle school. This is their last graded assignment and is due Wednesday.
Chromebooks will be collected tomorrow, so we will do a novel study for the last two weeks of school. The novel will be The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson, and counts as one of their summer reading options (although they should ABSOLUTELY read at least one more book from the list!). We will have class discussions around the themes of the novel, but will not have graded assignments.
It has been an absolute joy and pleasure to teach the Integrity students this year, and that is in large part to you. These kids are amazing humans, and great students. I’m humbled to have been a small part in their educational journey. Great Job , yall!
Science: Ms. Garwood
I have enjoyed working with all of the students this year. We are finishing the year by completing the Caine’s Arcade Project. This project will incorporate all of the physical science principles learned this year.
I would like to ask for support reminding students to bring in christmas lights, foil, and any other materials for their project.
Thank you again for sending your students to us and I know they will do great things at the next level!

It has truly been a pleasure to have your child in math class this year! I know what good mathematicians they are, and hope they continue to thrive!
To practice this summer and to help them prepare for future math classes, I have included the link below:
Again, thank you for sharing your students with me, I have truly enjoyed teaching this year!
