School Guidance Counselor Week
We want to take a moment to express our gratitude to our amazing new guidance counselor for all the incredible work she’s done since joining Omro High School last November! She has truly settled in and has already built great connections with our students, offering guidance as they navigate their high school journey and beyond. We’re so fortunate to have her as part of our team!

Congratulations go out to the following students and staff member for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners, Tanner, Ava and Kami, and our staff member Mrs. Benbo! Thank you for demonstrating the characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!!

Each month, a senior is selected as the OHS Student of the Month based on their scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and involvement in co-curricular activities. The Student of the Month for February is Keefer! Congratulations!

Each quarter, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department recognizes students for their outstanding contributions.
Congratulations to Addison who was selected by Mr. Goryl to be a 2024-2025 Quarter 2 CTE Student Spotlight for the Business Department!

Girls' Basketball Scores 15th Win!!
The Omro High School girls basketball team celebrated a remarkable achievement as they secured their 15th win of the season against the Mayville Cardinals last night. With an impressive performance on both offense and defense, the team demonstrated their hard work and determination throughout the game. Their teamwork, discipline, and hustle were evident as they dominated the court, outplaying their opponents in all aspects of the game. This victory adds to their growing list of successes, showcasing the skill and resilience of the players as they continue to make a strong impact this season.

Dance Team Places 4th at State
Congratulations to our dance team who participated in the State in La Crosse last weekend! The ladies placed 4th in D6 pom! We are so proud of the team for leaving their hearts on the dance floor!

Dress Closet Opens Soon!
Oshkosh North High School will be hosting a Dress Closet event, offering a wonderful selection of free prom dresses, shoes, and jewelry for area high school students.
Here are the details:
- Dates and Times: February 20th (4:00PM-5:30PM) & TOMORROW! February 7th and 21st (12:30PM-2:00PM)
- Closet Location: Oshkosh North High School, enter through door 7 and shop in the foyer.
UPDATE: Omro Youth Trap team
The Omro Youth Trap team is currently open to all 6th-12th grade youth from any community, with a registration fee of $60. Hunters' safety courses are scheduled for Omro youth interested in shooting trap. The final sign-up for trap and the team's first shooting night will be held on March 19, 2025, at Springbrook Sportsman Club in Omro from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening will start with a brief meeting from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by shooting practice. The team also uses TeamReach for communication, and the code is OYTrap2025, which is the most effective way to stay updated. For further information, you can email Bethany Gerber at omroyouthtrap@gmail.com.
Please note: The Omro Youth Trap Team is not associated with the schools and is not considered a school sport.

Spring Sports Sign - Ups
Baseball, Girl's Soccer and Softball sign up sheets are in the office now! If you are interested in playing one of these spring sports, please stop in and sign up!
NHS Toy Drive
TONIGHT! During the boy's basketball game, the National Honor Society is hosting its 4th Annual Toy Drive to spread holiday cheer to children in need! Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be brought to the varsity game or dropped off in the high school office. Your generosity will help make this season brighter for many families in our community. Thank you for your support!
Registration Open Now!
Registration for Omro Youth Baseball/Softball Association (OYBSA) is now open! Omro Baseball Softball Association supports youth ages 5 and older in the area of Omro, WI, in developing passion and skill sets for baseball and softball. We support recreation teams through participation in the Waushara County league and tournament teams at select age levels. Please register on or before February 15. Any questions should be directed to omrobsa@gmail.com.
**DATE CHANGE- OoMPA Chili Supper Scheduled
Mark your calendars for Thursday, February 27 (Not January 30, as previously advertised)– it’s Chili Supper Night! From 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, head over to the High School Commons for an all-you-can-eat meal featuring chili or macaroni and cheese, breadsticks, and a beverage. You can also pre-order chili and crackers for two by visiting this link for a pick up and go meal. Want something sweet? Pie will be available for an extra charge! Tickets are now available at all school offices – don’t miss out!
Family Literacy Night- Dive into Reading - Let’s Go Under the Sea!
Family Literacy Night will be held at Omro Elementary School on Thursday, March 13th, 2025 from
5:30pm - 7:30pm.

ATHLETICS
REMINDER: EXTRACURRICULAR ATTENDANCE POLICY - PRACTICE & COMPETITION
***Students must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or compete in an event. ***
Special circumstances may merit exception with prior approval from the Principal/Dean of Students, or designee. To see if the absence can be approved:
- Step 1 - Parent/Guardian notification to office (Mrs. Prado, Mrs. Stadler or Mrs. Dobberstein) at least 24 hours prior to absence)
- Step 2 - If absence is approved, Student picks up signed Excused Slip from office
- Step 3 - Student gives signed Excused Slip to coach/advisor to participate the day of the absence
If an absence is deemed unexcused it will result in ineligibility for participation in extracurricular activities until the next full day of attendance.

Summer Opportunity
The Omro Pool is hiring!! Applications for Lifeguard are due March 14, and April 11 for Front Desk. You must be 15 years old for Lifeguard and have completion of your CPR/AED by May 10. For Front Desk you need to be 14 years old. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to Omro City Hall by 4:30pm on the days specified.

Clinic Assistant Training Program
ThedaCare is excited to share a unique opportunity with graduating seniors who are interested in starting a career in healthcare! ThedaCare has partnered with Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) to create the Clinic Assistant (CA) Training Program.
We are looking for motivated students who are ready to jump into new learning within the healthcare setting, but who aren’t quite ready to move fully into a secondary education program. We feel this would be a great introduction to healthcare for interested and dedicated students!
The first step is for interested students to apply to an open Clinic Assistant position with ThedaCare. Please see attached flyer for more information and a QR code to our open positions. We have cohorts staring this Spring!
Additionally, we would love to come and share more about what a healthcare career looks like to interested students during any course time or events happening at your school – we are always eager to share about all the innovative and exciting opportunities that a career in healthcare has to offer!
