Get Up & Move Club

Swim & Dive

We had our first swim meet of the season last night against Bluffton. All the athletes performed very well with lots of personal bests. Coach can't wait to see how much they improve throughout the season. Special shout out to our 8th graders for being great role models and leaders by helping those that are new and helping calm their new teammates' nerves with encouraging words at their first swim meet.

Wrestling

The WMS wrestling team improved to 7-0 last night with a win over Lakeview 76-33. The Warriors' next stretch includes conference matches as we will host Carroll next Tuesday, Feb. 25th & travel to Edgewood on the 26th. The team continues to maximize efforts both on & off the mat. Keep it up, Warriors!

Class Act Show Choir

Class Act will help host the Homestead Classic Showcase this weekend. This event at Homestead High School is considered to be the largest show choir competition in the US. Please come support Class Act on Friday night. Performances start at 6pm with Class Act performing at 10:25pm. Tickets for Friday night are $10. We hope to see you there.

On Wednesday, March 19th, students who earned all A's or A/B's from Jan. 7th to March 14th will be recognized during their lunch block with a certificate and a cookie, compliments of the Woodside PTC.

SACS Education Foundation

The SACS Education Foundations is excited to continue the SACS Superstar Award for the 2024-2025 school year. This program allows students, families, and employees to nominate ANY SACS employee who has gone above and beyond to serve our SACS community. The foundation will recognize one employee each month from September through May with a $250 award.

Catching Up with the Counselors

Hello Warrior Families! Please read below for recent scheduling information.

Scheduling for 2025-2026

Our current 6th and 7th grade students have recently participated in scheduling presentations for the 2025-2026 school year. Your child received either a purple scheduling sheet (for 6th graders) or an orange scheduling sheet (for 7th graders). The scheduling sheets are due to their Warrior Time teachers no later than Friday, February 28, 2025.

New Electives for 2025-2026

We are excited to announce four new elective options for 7th and 8th graders in the 2025-2026 school year. We are offering Athlete Development, Dance, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW): Automation Robotics for 8th graders and Project Lead the Way (PLTW): Design and Modeling for the 7th graders. If you or your child have any questions about our new elective options, please reach out to a school counselor.

High School Scheduling for Class of 2029

Our current 8th graders submitted their course selection sheets during the second week of February for their freshman year at Homestead.

Soon, communication will be sent out to families about Summer P.E. WMS will send out both Canvas and ParentSquare announcements.

Your child has until June 4, 2025, at 2:45 p.m. to make any class change requests. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s high school schedule, please reach out to a school counselor.

Honors Petition

Woodside Families,

Woodside is hosting honors petitions for the 25-26 school year on Tuesday, March 11th and Wednesday, March12th. If your student is not currently enrolled in honors courses but would like to be considered for honors placement, they MUST participate in the honors petition. Interested incoming 7th graders will participate in the honors petition on Tuesday, March 11th and interested incoming 8th graders will participate on Wednesday, March 12th. Students will be able to sign up for the petitions beginning next week by scanning the QR codes displayed around the building.
