St. Margaret Mary's Feast Day is Sunday, October 16. Today our students honored her with a beautiful Mass celebrated by Fr. Dan who spoke of St. Margaret Mary's devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Seventh Grader, Avery Showalter, dressed as St. Margaret Mary and spoke about the saint's life at the introduction of the Mass.

The PTO provided cupcakes (petit Gateau) to all students after lunch. On Tuesday, all students will spend time in adoration like St. Margaret Mary did. The PTO will give each child a Holy Card with St. Margaret Mary's image on the front and the 12 promises Jesus made to St. Margaret Mary on the back.

Students in 5th-7th grade were invited to join the new SMM Filmmaking Club this week. We will be creating videos that help our school community. The club will meet on specific Fridays after school until 4:30. Membership is limited, so if your student is interested and you can commit to those dates, please fill out the permission slip and have it ready to turn in Monday morning starting at 8:10 after checking into homeroom. Class pictures and retakes of individual school pictures will be done on the following days:

-Students in Kindergarten thru 7th grade on Thursday, October 21st

*Order forms for class pictures are being sent home this week. (Multiple copies of the same class picture can be done in one envelope; but if ordering class pictures from different homerooms please order and pay separately.)

*Students taking an individual school picture will receive an electronic link to view and order those pictures online.

*School uniforms must be worn

*Only students who were absent on school picture day OR who have a picture package in hand to return to the photographers will be eligible to take a retake of their individual school picture.

As it was last year, please call the office and/or contact Gay Knock at gknock@saintmm.org immediately if your child or member of your household tests positive for the Corona Virus. She is our COVID representative and communicates with the Louisiana Department of Health on a regular basis. She will get direction from the LDOH regarding protocols and quarantine restrictions.

We are not following the lead of the State Department of Eduction which allows parents to decide whether or not they quarantine their children who have been exposed to a positive person. We are following the Louisiana Department of Health's guidelines.
