Immaculate Conception School's 2025 Jubilee Door
Dear Blue Knight Families,
Our students have been working hard to focus on their studies, and their dedication is shining through! You should see evidence of their learning in the completed work sent home, through observing them finish homework, and in family conversations about what they are working on across various subjects. Your engagement and encouragement at home make a meaningful impact on their success.
Catholic Schools Week is just around the corner, beginning next Sunday. We are especially excited to celebrate this special time with our community. Highlights include a special Mass on Thursday and a drive-by breakfast. Invitations have been sent to honor our local police, emergency responders, and veterans. We look forward to welcoming them and celebrating their contributions to our community.
This week, our students engaged in meaningful lessons about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. They reflected on his courageous fight for justice, equality, and peace. It was inspiring to see our students connect these values to their own lives and discuss how they can contribute to creating a better world.
Congratulations to our middle schoolers for completing their midterms! Their hard work and perseverance were evident, and we are proud of their efforts. Make-up exams will take place next week for any students who need to complete them.
You should have received information about the Virtus program, Empowering God's Children. This program is an essential part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Teachers will present this lesson during one Religion period next week, with middle school classes potentially requiring two days to complete the program.
Thank you for your continued support as we guide our students in faith, learning, and personal growth.
Blessings,
Mrs. Fortunato

"Manners, Spirituality, and Lifelong Skills"
Manners are an essential part of creating a positive and respectful community, and we believe in teaching our students not just academic skills but also the importance of kindness and courtesy. Teaching manners and spirituality aids us in the holistic development of students alongside their academic growth. Our faculty will be emphasizing the meaning and practice of good manners.
We’ll focus on how we treat and talk to others, using traditional responses like “please,” “thank you,” and “you’re welcome” when appropriate. Students will also learn the value of being good listeners—allowing one speaker at a time to talk—and understanding that interrupting or talking over someone is impolite. Additionally, we’ll encourage students to greet others warmly as they pass them for the first time during the school day, reinforcing the importance of acknowledging one another with kindness and respect.
We will also highlight the importance of table manners, teaching students to eat within the space in front of them, use a napkin, and maintain appropriate voice levels during meals. These small habits contribute to an enjoyable and respectful dining experience.
Your support at home can make a big difference! Remind your children to practice these simple but meaningful habits in their daily lives. Together, we can help our students develop the social skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.
Thank you for partnering with us in fostering a respectful and compassionate school community.

Discover the Joy of Catholic Education at ICS during Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week, celebrated from January 26 to February 1, is a time for our community to reflect on the immense joy, purpose, and faith-filled learning that define Catholic education. At ICS, we kick off this meaningful week with a 10 AM Family Mass on Sunday, January 26, followed by an Open House where current and prospective families can experience firsthand the vibrant spirit of our school.
Each day during Catholic Schools Week highlights a special theme, celebrating our students, faculty, staff, and the unique values that make Catholic education so enriching. Our second Open House on Wednesday, January 29, is another opportunity to explore how our school nurtures academic excellence, personal growth, and spiritual development in a joyful and welcoming environment.
