Empathy and Engagement
Back to School Event, Sunday September 22nd
We hosted a fantastic Back to School event in collaboration with Brooklyn North Command and the Keeping it Real- Da Fam Auto Club. Our staff and families showed up and showed out with dancing, a BBQ, a raffle, games area, hair braiding and barbering, free phones, adult service programs, backpack and personal item giveaways, video games (a truck!), henna and temporary tattoos. It was a great way to reach out and welcome families, and a great way to spend a gorgeous Sunday!

Song of the Week
I picked Trick Daddy and Let's Go for a few reasons. First, he samples Ozzy Osborne's Crazy Train, which I think encapsulates the first two weeks perfectly- busing, class changes, schedule expectations, etc. Second, we're recovering, focused and working. It's game on. Let's go!
