Our own musicians visited WCASD elementary schools to spread holiday cheer. Stops included East Goshen, Glen Acres, Fern Hill, and Exton.

On Tuesday, January 7th, at 3:00 pm the Unified Bocce Team will host our “Fans in the Stands” event in the Main Gym. This event is intended to promote inclusivity and support our friends with differences. It is our first match of the season and we’re playing Henderson. Win or lose, our school spirit and pride will be on full display! Please wear East gear.

In lieu of a traditional assessment, students in Ms. Daggan's Advanced Geosci are doing a longer-term project. Over the course of two weeks, they will be given four different locations in the ocean. They are to design an organism that would live there, provide a visual of their organism, and create an informational sheet to explain the adaptations that they included. Their organism must fit within a particular phylum and contain adaptations that are appropriate to the environment and to the phylum. The culminating activity is a gallery walk to see the types of organisms and the kinds of adaptations that could be included in the different groups.

Jada Cooper, a Morehead-Cain semifinalist, recently named physics teacher, Mr. Knight, as the educator who has had the most profound impact on her. Morehead-Cain is the nation’s first merit scholarship program, providing opportunities for scholars, as well as a lifelong connection to the alumni community. Morehead-Cain seeks driven, courageous, and inquisitive leaders interested in embracing unknown and uncommon experiences and cultivating a legacy of positive impact wherever they go. Congratulations to both Jada and Mr. Knight! East is proud of you both.

Even if you haven’t thought about working yet, it’s a great idea to have it ready to go in case an opportunity knocks! Pick up your Permit Application at the Security Office, fill it out, and have your parent or guardian sign it, then bring it back to Ms. Knox to get your blue slip to success! Work permits are good until you turn 18, do not need to be renewed, and you can change jobs without obtaining a new permit. Work permits are valid for employment at any employer in Pennsylvania (not just Chester County). See Ms. Knox if you have any questions.
