December Ray of Hope Awardees
Our December Ray of Hope Awardees are being recognized for their creative prowess. Each of our six students were winners of the RQS Day Creative Contest. This contest gave students in elementary and secondary schools the opportunity to submit an essay, multimedia or video submission about why they love their school. Find out more and view their work at this link and take time to watch this video that highlights their achievements.

Santa visits New Trails Early Learning Center
Santa stopped by New Trails Early Learning Center during their holiday parties to help spread Holiday cheer. Students and staff sang carols with Santa and students that wanted to get close-up with Santa could do so. A huge thanks to the Blue Ridge Optimist Club and to Board of Education Vice President Nodie Newtown III for making this a special memory for our students.
The Dr. is in!
Dr. Martin-Knox is taking over as a substitute for teachers as part of a fun way to reward teachers that have excellent attendance. This fun incentive is available to teachers across all buildings and levels. All teachers that meet the excellent attendance requirement will be entered to win in a drawing for a day off. The second quarter announcement will be made soon!
Raytown Middle School Focus Group
Throughout the year select students from each building across the district will have the opportunity to participate in focus groups with school administrators and Dr. Martin-Knox. Recently, we hosted a focus group session at Raytown Middle School to hear from students in grades 6-8. Feedback from all focus groups will be compiled and used to help enact positive changes for students.
