7/8 Academy Newsletter
🦃 November 22, 2024 🦃
Dear 7/8 Academy Families,
This week our 8th grade AVID students wrapped up their food drive. Thank you to all of the families that donated food to their student’s homeroom. Please check out the photo in the newsletter of all of the food that was collected.
On Monday December 2nd, we will have a new face in the office. I’d like to welcome Katie Hill as our new secretary in the 7/8 Academy. We look forward to her being a member on our office team.
Take care and have a great Thanksgiving break!
Shannon Walker
The AVID class wants to send a huge thank you to all students and teachers for helping make the food drive a success! A total of 1,548 items! After all of the items were counted, we have a winner! Congratulations to ..................... Mrs. Buchholz's homeroom!
Report Cards
Student report cards are now available to view in Skyward Family Access. To see your student’s report card, log into Skyward Family Access and go to the portfolio tab.
Parent Loop
As the weather gets colder, please remember when dropping off your student in the parent loop to pull all the way around and do not park. Students should exit the vehicle quickly once you are stopped. As the weather gets colder, it might be tempting to allow students to wait in your car, but it’s important that the flow of traffic continues smoothly. Please make sure that your student is dressed for the weather. In the case of rain or unsafe temperature, we will make arrangements for students to enter the building early.

Building Closing Time
As the weather turns colder, we want to remind families that our building closes at 3:00 p.m. every day. Unless students are working directly with a teacher or club advisor, they will be required to leave the building regardless of the weather. If they are athletes and have practice directly after school, they should go to the locker rooms and get ready for practice. If they have a practice later in the evening they will need to leave the building until practice starts. If students are interested in coming to an athletic event, they must leave the building and return when the event starts. There are no exceptions.
Parent Survey
Survey Reminder - Please take a few minutes to complete our family survey if you have not already done so. Your feedback will help us improve student success and strengthen our learning environment.
The survey takes less than five minutes to complete. Your time is very much appreciated.
Your responses are confidential, and honest feedback will guide our efforts to create a supportive school environment for everyone.
The surveys are an important part of our strategic planning process. If you have children at more than one Lakeview school, please complete a survey for each school using the survey link specific to that building.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can make our school the best it can be!
