Bobcat Families,
What a fabulous FIELD DAY! Thank you to all of our parents and family members who gave their time and talents today to our school community. Additionally, thank you to Coach Swanson, Mr. Porter and Mrs. Brancato for helping set up the Field Day Fun. We love all of the activities that Coach planned for our fun day!!!
Next week is our final week of school for this 2024-2025 school year! We will be sending home yearbooks for those who ordered them next week, and students will begin to take home all of their belongings. It is always such a bittersweet feeling as we come to the final week of school. We are so incredibly proud of all of our students, teachers and families!!!
We want to share two newsworthy district items with families that have been updated recently. First, our fourth graders will be participating in fifth grade camp next year at a new location, Camp JOLT. Information will be sent home with our fourth graders this week and next week. We will be attending camp on October 29-31st.
Also, our bus transportation will be changing in the fall. Some of our neighborhoods who were able to use bus transportation will not be available next year. The specific information about the bus updates are found on the Plano website: Bus Transportation changes 2025
Next week, we will be sending home information about your child’s scores on the end of year MAP testing. All STAAR information will be available sometime this summer. Student progress reports and report cards will be finalized in Skyward by May 30th.
Next Friday is our last day and an early dismissal day. We will have our parties and end of year activities. Our generous PTA is providing our students with pizza, but students are still able to utilize the lunch line if they want to buy lunch. We will have dismissal at 12:00 on Friday.
Enjoy this weekend, and we hope you celebrate your child’s accomplishments next week!
Highlights for next week:
Monday - Senior Walk - graduating seniors walk -- WEAR your favorite TEAM Shirt
Tuesday - WEAR Red, White and Blue - Patriotic for Memorial Day
Wednesday - WEAR Camo - We can’t hide from Summer!

Important Transportation Update for 2025-2026 School Year
The district has updated current hazardous roadways in accordance with TEA recommendations, which was approved by the Plano ISD Board of Trustees on March 25. As a result the number of approved hazardous routes in Plano ISD has been reduced for the 2025-2026 school year. It is important that you check eligibility of transportation for your student using the link below. If you are not eligible for bus transportation for the 2025-2026 school year, it is recommended that you start planning now to avoid last-minute difficulties.
You can check your student’s eligibility for transportation at www.pisd.edu/busridercheck.
Students are eligible for regular bus transportation if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Legally reside two or more miles from their assigned campus of regular attendance as measured along the shortest route that may be traveled on public roads.
- Legally reside in a designated hazardous area within two miles of his or her assigned campus of regular attendance. (Please see Plano ISD Hazardous Roadway Guidelines below.)
- Identified as a homeless child or youth as entitled by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvement Act.Students who do not meet any of the three eligibility requirements above are not eligible for transportation.
Students who do not meet any of the three eligibility requirements above are not eligible for transportation. Additionally, students who have been approved for transfer from their home campus are not eligible for transportation services.
Special Education and Academy Programs of Plano
- All students receiving special education services who are approved for transportation through the ARD process will continue to receive bus service.
- Transportation services currently available for the Academy Programs of Plano will remain available as part of those specific academic programs.
Hazardous Roadway Transportation Guidelines
Plano ISD Transportation follows TEA-recommended and board-approved guidelines, Policy CNA(Legal) and Policy CNA(Local) to determine hazardous roadways. Students who live within two miles of a campus and reside in a designated hazardous area or roadway are eligible for hazardous bus transportation.
Hazardous roadways in Plano ISD are defined as follows:
- Four- or six-lane roadway with a speed limit over 45 mph
- Four- or six-lane roadway that does not have pedestrian-activated traffic signals
- U.S. 75 Central Expressway
- Dallas North Tollway
- President George Bush Turnpike
- S.H. 289 / Preston Road
- Active railroad track
- Areas that do not have sidewalks or safe paths (a safe path does not have to be a sidewalk)
This adjustment does not impact regular bus transportation for students who live two or more miles from their home campus:
Visit the website at www.pisd.edu/transportationplan to see specific changes affecting your school’s available transportation, including maps, route descriptions and FAQs. For additional information or questions not addressed in the FAQ, please contact us through Let’s Talk or call 469-754-8397.

If you are dropping off lunch, please label it with your child's name and grade level. Kindergarten lunches must be delivered by 10:45 a.m. All other grade level lunches must be here by 11 a.m., regardless of your child's lunch time!
If you are writing a check for the cafeteria, fill it out completely, or it will be returned home with your student. Checks can be made out to FANS or Food and Nutritional Services. Below are the lunch times for each grade level.
Kindergarten - 11:00 - 11:30
1st - 11:15-11:45
2nd - 11:45-12:15
3rd - 12:30-1:00

Student Absences
Parents/Guardians can add absence requests for students to indicate a day or range of days that they will not be in school. You will add absence requests via Skyward Family Access. If your child will be out sick for the day or will be gone due to a family vacation, you can enter an absence request to indicate these details. Here is a Step-by-Step Guide.
Remember, school starts at 7:40 a.m. We close the doors promptly at 7:40 a.m. Please arrive on time so your child is not counted tardy. The gym doors open as early as 7 a.m. where they are supervised until we release them to the classroom at 7:30 a.m. Your child also may purchase breakfast in the cafeteria beginning at 7:15 a.m.
Early Pick-Up
Early pick-up is before 2:30 p.m. Those who arrive after that time will have to wait until dismissal at 3 p.m. If you are picking up early, please notifiy the teacher so they can have your student prepared. You must come into the office with your identification to sign out your student. Thank you for your cooperation.
