Cape's Mission & Vision
Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.
Message from Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
Dear Cape Elementary Families,
What a terrific start to the school year! Thank you to the families who joined us for our first Spirit Night at Culver’s and who are participating in our Fall Fundraiser. Fundraising orders are due September 10.
On behalf of our teachers and staff, we look forward to partnering with you to help your child have a very successful school year. It is important that children set academic goals for each school year, and we encourage you to help promote these goals and a growth mindset. Our children need our help to stay focused on their education, to keep going when it gets difficult and to believe in themselves. To assist us in this goal please:
Make sure your child attends daily and arrives on time
Completes assignments and homework
Reads daily
Shares school experiences with you
Shares their academic goals with you
Be your child’s cheerleader and celebrate successes with them
It is our parents’ enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires children to do their best, combined with our teachers’ ability to teach rigorous standards to students that will lead us to higher achievement. Together we can achieve great results!
We are unloading over 300 students each morning from 7:20 to 7:50 and over 365 students from 2:10 to 2:50 each afternoon. Please review the Parent Drop off and pick up procedures in this newsletter.
Going paperless! Please remember interims and report cards will now be accessed online ONLY using the FOCUS Parent Portal. Parents will have access to report cards and other important information like grades, attendance, discipline referrals, and progress monitoring results. Please use the link for directions on creating a FOCUS Parent Portal: FOCUS Parent Portal Directions
Thank you for your continued support of Cape Elementary.
Sincerely,
Nicole Osterholm and Kristi Sund

Welcome back!! Time is flying by and we're already 4 weeks into the 2024-2025 school year. PTO dollars were hard at work over the summer paying for Hawks Hideout which has air hockey, connect four , tic tac toe, chalk board wall, legos and so much more!! In the works are umbrella to cover the picnic tables where you can have lunch with your kids, and our new play ground equipment! We will continue to fund classroom enrichment needs, SOAR celebrations, field trip buses, student assemblies and more.

Mark your calendar: Learning Era Nights
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming family fun night! This special event will be held on two nights and promises to be an enjoyable and educational experience for the whole family.
Here's what we have planned for the evening:
Math and ELA Learning Games: Engage with your child in a variety of fun and interactive games designed to make math and ELA. These activities are crafted to reinforce classroom learning and help you support your child's academic growth at home.
Informative Sessions: Attend sessions led by our dedicated teachers to learn effective strategies and tips on how to support your child's learning journey. We will cover ways to assist with homework, build reading skills, and encourage a love for learning.
Whether you're looking to explore new ways to make learning fun or seeking guidance on how to best support your child’s education, this event is a great opportunity to connect with teachers and other parents.
K-1-2: Tuesday, September 24th 5:45 to 7:30
3-4-5: Wednesday, September 25th from 5:45 to 7:30
September Counseling Corner
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year at Cape Elementary! This year we provided over 75 backpacks for students to kick off the school year with the help of our community partners Cape Coral First Methodist Church, Incredible Bank, Cape Elementary PTO and many anonymous drop-off donors. Thank you to EVERYONE who supports this project to make sure every student has what he or she needs throughout the school year. If you need a backpack or supplies for school, please stop by the front office. If you are able to donate, we are always in need of colored pencils, Crayola markers and student scissors.
Cape Elementary is a Positive Behavior Interventions & Support school. We are looking forward to offering a school-wide SOAR celebration each quarter and classroom incentives for students who follow our school SOAR expectations. We have added “Houses,” or teams to our LiveSchool points/rewards. EVERYONE - Students and staff are a member of one of four houses: Ventus, Terra, Ignis and Hydro. If you hear your student talking about their “House” at school, here’s the scoop.
Houses compete for points and rewards by following our SOAR expectations. When students earn Liveschool points, their “house” gets points too. The PBIS team is working on some great rewards for this added fun incentive.
The district-wide character word for September is ACCEPTANCE. This involves the recognition of the diversity of others, their opinions, practices, and culture with a favorable reception. The Quote for the month: “Strength lies in differences, not in similarities.” ~ Stephen Covey
