February
Volunteer of the Month

Eva Thurman-Keup has been an amazing volunteer at Waubonsie Valley High School. Because of her dedication to the teachers and students at Waubonsie, she is being named the February BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
Eva has four children, a sophomore and a senior at Waubonsie Valley, and two graduates. Throughout the years Eva took on more responsibilities in her volunteer roles.
Currently, with the help of eight volunteers, Eva is organizing the Band Booster Craft Fair which will host nearly 80 crafters and vendors in the halls and cafeteria of Waubonsie Valley High School. She also volunteers with the Show Choir and the Waubonsie Valley marching band. Last year, she chaperoned the Wind Ensembles trip to the University of Illinois Champaign for their superstate concert.
Her nomination states, “Eva is going out with a bang. She will spend this year helping us ensure systems are in place for our events to continue once she “graduates” in May, and leaves an enormous gap for several other people to fill. We have always been blessed with wonderful parent volunteers, but I can’t think of anyone who has done more than Eva or has helped at a more critical time for the students in our program.”
