Directory Art Contest: Deadline is Monday (10/7)
The school directory art contest is back! We will have a quick turnaround this year, so if you are interested, please submit a drawing that exemplifies this year's cover theme: "Soaring to Success at SIES!" Make sure your name, grade, and teacher are listed on the back. We can't wait to see what you come up with! Please turn in your submission to Mrs. Ferguson by Monday, October 7th. This is the last day submissions will be accepted. The cover winner will be announced later next week.
**Note: Each family will receive ONE printed directory. Each family must consent by registering in Membership Toolkit (sies.membershiptoolkit.com) in order to be listed in the directory. The FINAL DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 7TH. However, full class lists will be published in the directory for reference.**
Early Release Tomorrow
There will be an Early Release tomorrow, October 4th. Students will be dismissed at 12:20 pm. Please make sure all changes are logged into School Dismissal Manager by 10:20 am. Thank you!
Principal Coffee Chat Tomorrow
Come and join us TOMORROW, October 4th from 7:30-8:30 am for our second Principal Coffee Chat of the year. At this chat, we will discuss safety at SIES. How does our Comprehensive Safety Plan work and who is included? As a parent, what do you need to know in the event of an emergency? How can we talk with students about safety without frightening them? What are some ways we can improve arrival and dismissal to ensure the safety of all students? What are the district policies concerning safety procedures? How are guidelines established?

Spirit First Friday with Pelican's Snoballs
Tomorrow, October 4th, is Spirit First Friday at SIES! Show your school pride by wearing your favorite SIES shirt or a shade of blue.
We will also have Pelican's Snoballs on hand! Pelican's will donate 10% of the proceeds back to the school!!! Students will have an opportunity to purchase during their recess time. This is a CASH ONLY opportunity. Please bring the EXACT AMOUNT. More details are below!
Hurricane Helene Disaster Relieve Drive
Sullivan's Island Elementary PTA and Staff will be hosting a Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief Drive from October 4th through October 11th. Donated items may be dropped off during carline or at any time in the bins located outside the front of the school. Needed items include non-perishable food, diapers, baby wipes, formula, AA batteries, garbage bags, toothbrushes and toothpaste, powdered sports drinks, and hydration powders. Thank you!
Fall Picture Day
Picture Day is quickly approaching! Make sure you are camera ready on Thursday, October 10th. Order forms were sent home today in Thursday folders. Fall Make-Up Picture Day has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 12th. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Teacher Librarian, Debbie Santos (deborah_santos@charleston.k12.sc.us).
Charleston Battery Game Day Details
Our amazing PTA has organized a wonderful Family Night at The Charleston Battery Game for this Saturday, October 5th. If you have purchased your tickets for the evening, please read the information below to take advantage of all the fun opportunities!

2:30 pm: Gates Open + Private Space Open
3:15 pm - 3:20 pm: Pre-Match Group Experiences Check-In
3:20 pm: Watch Player Warm Up Begins
3:50 pm: High-Five Tunnel Begins (Kids Only)
3:57 pm: Pre-Match Experiences END
4:00 pm: Match Begins
~6:00 pm: Match Ends
~6:05 pm: Youth Autograph Session Begins

· Post-Match Autographs: All kids are welcomed onto the field behind the west sideline field boards for post-match autographs. All fans as welcome to join! No maximum.

Save the Date: Soar On, Skimmers! Fun Run & 5K
Save the date for our 3rd Annual Soar On, Skimmers Fun Run & 5K on Saturday, November 9th! The race will begin at 8:30 am on the beach behind the school. Come out and enjoy a fun community feel while getting in a good workout! Registration will be available soon.

B.A.R.K. Rangers Halloween Event
IOP Halloween Golf Cart Parade and Carnival
On October 26th, the Isle of Palms Recreation Center will host a Halloween Golf Cart Parade and Carnival from 4-6 pm. Participants can register for the golf cart parade by clicking the link below or visiting www.iop.net. The top three decorated golf carts will receive prizes!
After the parade, everyone is invited to participate in the Halloween Carnival, which will include a drive-thru haunted house, children's entertainment, food and sweet vendors, and more! For more information, visit www.iop.net or call (843) 886-8294.
IOP Ghostly Tide Tales
On Friday, October 11th, the Isle of Palms Recreation Department will host Ghostly Tide Tales from 6-7 pm. Presented by Bulldog Tours, there will be campfires on the beach with family friendly ghost tales (public beach access next to the sea cabins on the beach). Free parking will be offered during the event in Municipal Lot B. Be sure to arrive early and bring your chairs, blankets, and flashlights to find a spot near one of the fires!
