Registration for Heart & Sole/Girls on the Run is open NOW. Please use this LINK to register. The program considers the whole person - body, brain, heart, spirit, and social connection. Heart & Sole offers an inclusive place of belonging, where girls feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health. At the end of the season, all program participants complete a 5K. Our team will meet after school on Mondays & Thursdays 2:45 - 4:00, from September 23rd - December 15th. All students will take the STAR assessment in both math and reading on the following dates:

Sept. 11 - Reading 7

Sept. 12 Reading 8

Sept. 18 - Math 7

Sept. 19 - Math 8/Algebra

This test will be given during the student’s regular block class and is a CAT (computer adaptive test) that screens student performance in math and reading. This first assessment will be used to gather a baseline data point to help make instructional goals for the year. Some ways this data can be used is to form tutoring groups, offer extension activities, develop class schedules, as well as track gains or needs for specific skills. The assessment will be given again in January and April to monitor progress. We encourage students to put forth their best effort to ensure reliable data. Reports of performance will be sent home for your review.

Teachers will be administering a hope assessment at the end of September to best help support students as we move through the school year. A copy of the assessment is included below for your review. Please utilize this link if you would like to opt your student out of this assessment.
