6/14- LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
A Note of Appreciation:
Peninsula Families,
Somehow we've reached the end of another school year. I am in constant awe of the amazing community we have here at Peninsula. You do so much to support your students, our staff and the daily functioning of our school. Thank you for your partnership, and for entrusting us with your babies. We'll miss our 5th graders next year, but know that they will continue on their paths from amazing children to amazing adults. Have a great summer! We'll see you in the fall.

Kinder Promotion
On June 14th, we invite you to join us for Kindergarten Promotion. The ceremony starts at 9:30. We expect to finish by 10:30 and have recess before lunch. Families are welcome to join us to play and visit. After recess, you have two options. You can sign your child out and go home, or you can leave your child at school till our regular dismissal time.
5th Grade Promotion
We will have a family picnic at Kenton Park for all the fifth graders and their immediate family. The picnic will be at 11am-12:30pm. At 1 p.m. we will have a “Promotion” ceremony in the cafeteria to celebrate kids moving on to middle school. This will end with a clap out and finish at about 2 p.m. at which point you can take your kiddo home.
A Message From Our School Social Worker
We’ve made it to the end of the school year- hooray! I wanted you all to know that like the majority of school staff, I do not work during the summer. If you need resources during that time please call 211. I also sent home with your child this flier with free summer resources. You can also scroll through a list of previous resources I’ve shared by clicking here.
Free Summer Lunches
The Nutrition Services department is very proud to partner with Portland Parks and Recreation to provide free lunches to all children in our community ages 1-18 at select parks throughout the city. Portland Parks and Recreation's Free Lunch + Play is open to all (no registration or enrollment necessary) and our team will be making lunches for children to enjoy in the park (grab and go meals are no longer permissible). This service will be offered Monday through Friday, June 26 through August 9 (except July 4 and 5).
