As we begin the second quarter of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the hard work and progress we've seen so far. The start of a new quarter is a perfect opportunity for students to reset, set new goals, and build upon the momentum of the first quarter.

Here are a few ways you can help your student start this quarter off strong:

1. Reflect on the First Quarter: Encourage your student to think about what worked well and what areas could use improvement. Whether it’s time management, study habits, or asking for help when needed, this reflection can help guide their focus moving forward.

2. Set New Goals: Help your student set realistic and achievable goals for the second quarter. Whether it’s improving grades, participating more in class, or balancing schoolwork with extracurriculars/work, having clear goals can keep them motivated.

3. Stay Organized: Encourage your student to use tools like planners, calendars, or digital apps to keep track of assignments and important dates. Staying organized is key to reducing stress and staying on top of schoolwork.

As always, we are here to support your student in every way possible. Let’s work together to ensure they have a successful and rewarding second quarter!

We’re excited to allow students to wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday, October 31! It’s a fun way to celebrate, but please note that all costumes must follow the guidelines outlined in the GLHS Student Handbook.

To ensure a safe and positive environment, here are a few important reminders:

• No masks or full face paint are permitted.
• Costumes must adhere to the school’s dress code.
• Inflatable costumes are not allowed.
• If a costume doesn’t meet the dress code, students will be asked to change or have an alternative outfit brought to them.

We encourage students to be creative and have fun while making sure costumes are appropriate for the school setting. Let’s make this a safe and enjoyable day for everyone!

Our PASS (Positive Academic Support Solution) Room is now open after school! It is open Monday - Thursday from 3:40 PM - 5:00 PM, and is located in the ASC Lab (H163A). The PASS Room is operated by GLHS teachers who are ready and willing to provide academic support on assignments.
