Conference Day Interpreter Sign Up - November 5
Conference Day is November 5th! If you've not already done so, please go ahead and start scheduling quarter 1 conferences with your student's parents. Interpreters have been requested for Conference Day! Please use this form to request an interpreter at conferences needing Spanish translation. Please fill up the first first tab (Interpreter Sign Up - A) before going to the second tab (Interpreter Sign Up - B).
***As a reminder, not all parents will sign up for a conference- even when you reach out via Talking Points, a note home, and an email. Please plan to make phone calls, provide incentives, and even engage our social worker, if needed to ensure that we make this essential connection with EVERY family. Thank you!

High Impact Strategy: Numbered Heads!
Have you tried our strategy of the month, Numbered Heads, or any of the engagement strategies from Hook your Learner? As a reminder, our C & I (Curriculum & Instruction) Committee Members will be expected to report back about their PLC's progress and results with Numbered Heads during their next committee meeting.
If you've not yet given it a shot, here are a few resources you may find helpful:
Numbered Heads
Numbered heads is a cooperative learning activity consisting of four steps. Students are assigned a number. The teacher announces the task and time limit. Students put their heads together, do the activity, and ensure the whole group completes the task.
Effect Size: 0.92
***As with any new strategy or procedure, be sure to provide explicit instructions, modeling, and practice time before expecting perfection and before giving up!
Quarter 1 Report Cards
Quarter 1 Report Cards should go home for all students on Friday, November 8. Wendy will place report cards envelopes in your mailboxes on Tuesday, October 15. WCPSS has provided Report Card Guidance that contain comment exemplars that you might find helpful.
Click here to access our Report Card & Interim Reference Sheet where you will find the WCPSS Report Card Guidance shared in yellow.
