Northwest Community Talent Show Shines a Spotlight on Local Talent and Raises $1225 for Cancer Patients
The Northwest High School National Honor Society (NHS) is celebrating the success of their annual Northwest Community Talent Show, held on February 7th, 2024. The event, a showcase of local talent, raised an impressive $1225 for cancer patients undergoing treatment at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. This brings the total donated by the program since its inception in 2011 to a remarkable $7745.
NHS members collaborated with the community to create a vibrant event, and the dedication of everyone involved – from performers and attendees to NHS organizers – is truly commendable. The funds raised will be used to purchase gift cards, alleviating some of the unexpected financial burdens faced by cancer patients during their treatment.
On April 9th, NHS officers Maddy McPherson, Drew Maples, and Ivy Chen presented Laura Coffey, RN, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, with $1225 in gift cards.
"We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of the Northwest community," said NHS Advisor Randi Watts. "Thanks to your generosity, these funds will make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients battling this difficult illness."
The Northwest High School NHS remains committed to serving the community and looks forward to hosting future events that benefit worthy causes.
