Three Things to Know
FinalForms & Immunizations
If you haven’t done so already, please log into your FinalForms account to review information, make any necessary changes, and sign off for the new school year. This includes verifying that your child's immunizations are current and that all required documentation is provided.
For safety reasons, students who have not met these requirements by Monday, September 23, will not be permitted to attend school until their forms and immunization records are up to date. For detailed information on immunization requirements, please refer to the Events & Reminders section below.
Rooms
Make sure to join your child's teacher on Rooms! You can find Rooms in the Midview Schools app. It's a great way to stay connected to your child's classroom, receive important updates, and message with the teacher, among other features. If you are having trouble connecting to Rooms, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or our front office for help.

Introduction to STEM
Third graders had an exciting introduction to STEM class during the first week of school, highlighting the importance of STEM education in elementary settings. Engaging students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills from a young age.
In this class, students were introduced to the engineering design process through a collaborative, hands-on activity. They took on the challenge of building a perch to help "Harry" see around the classroom, with the goal of raising him as high off the table as possible while ensuring his safety. This activity not only encouraged teamwork and communication but also allowed students to explore engineering concepts in a fun and meaningful way, laying the foundation for future learning in STEM fields.
Morning Annoucements
At Midview West, our amazing TECH teacher, Mrs. Shinko, works with students to transform them into morning news anchors. Each day, two students collaborate to design a script and deliver the morning news to the school community. This hands-on experience not only enhances their communication skills but also fosters teamwork and creativity.
On Fridays, the students take it a step further by creating a video version of the announcements, which is shared with all homeroom classes. This format allows students to watch a recap of recent West events and participate in various activities.

Team Building with Miss Loudermilk's Class
Miss Loudermilk's 4th-grade class started the year with a fantastic team-building activity that set a positive tone for the school year! The students worked in groups to save Fred, the drowning "worm," engaging in collaborative problem-solving. With the challenge of getting Fred back into his boat using only one hand and a paper clip, students had to think creatively and strategize together. This hands-on experience fostered teamwork and communication skills and encouraged critical thinking as they devised the best plans to achieve their goal. The students enjoyed working together, making it a memorable start to their school year!
