Students! Work toward earning the distinction of being a Literary Scholar! How do you do this? By reading and then logging pages! Reading for fun or for school counts for this program, so anything you read in classes or just on your own can be logged toward your total count. You will log pages on the ReadSquared website (tvhs.readsquared.com) or the ReadSquared app. The purpose of this program is to encourage reading and to recognize all that you gain from reading, such as increased vocabulary, increased empathy, and a broader worldview. If you have questions or need help logging in, please see Mrs. Bauer in the library.

Immunizations
Dear Eagle Families,
This year has started off great!! Thank you for all you do and staying involved with your student/s here at Thompson Valley. With that said, if your student/s are not up to date on immunizations, or if you choose to have them exempt, please do so sooner rather than later. For exemption, this must be done EVERY school year and an educational module has to be watched, signed, dated, and returned to the health office. The link is below for you. If an immunization is done, you may send a copy or email to myself (cristina.frick@tsd.org) or Jaime Quintana (jaime.quintana@tsd.org) so we can enter it/them into IC. Please let me know if you have any questions at all!! Thanks again.

Meet The Staff
Jay Klagge is a long-time staff member of Thompson Valley, working here since 2001. He coaches both boys and girls tennis, and his hobbies include gardening, exercising, traveling, and reading. He moved to Colorado to be near his wife’s family but still visits his birth state of Minnesota quite frequently. Mr. Klagge was inspired to teach by his mother and father who were each a kindergarten teacher and athletic director respectively.
All around his classroom are an endless amount of historical memorabilia, graphs, and miscellaneous objects that exemplify his personality and passion for teaching. The aspects of social studies that drive Mr. Klagge’s passion for the topics are the inherent competition of politics, the beautiful geography of Earth, and the change in ideas and inventions throughout history.
He notices that an increasing number of his students are staring at their phone screens, saying “your time is a commodity and companies are buying it from you”. Entertainment is abundant and always at your disposal, and Mr. Klagge is doing his best to ensure that his students are captivated by the privilege of education and the opportunity to learn, rather than their cell phones.
Mr. Klagge is a prime example of a great educator who is excited to share his knowledge and inspire students to ask questions.

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica/Spanish Honor Society is happy to have completed the first phase of making the main entrance and cafeteria a welcoming space that honors the diversity of our staff, students and families.
Last winter a survey was created and sent out to the TVHS community to gather information on which countries, cultures and nationalities should be represented in our school. With the results, SHH received enough donations through Donors Choose grant to purchase most of the flags requested. ( Unfortunately a few of the flags were unavailable for purchase.) Our goal is to continue to add to the flag display based on staff, student, family and community input.
Please stop by to see our colorful and welcoming entrance!

Dear TVHS Families,
We hope this message finds you well! We’re excited to share some big news with you—Thompson Valley High School has invested in a brand-new LED scoretable for our main gym! This cutting-edge display will add even more excitement to our home games and events, and we’re inviting you, our TVHS community, to be a part of it.
