Thank You To:
- All of the Veterans on our staff - We thank you and support you on this Veteran's Day and always!
- Our support staff members who helped with a magnet project to send contact information to all families during the e-learning day. They are helping connect our families with SHS!
- The Athletic Department for organizing the fall sports awards program. It is a great way to recognize our fall coaches and athletes.
- Amy Peddie and Joe Horvath for joining a virtual meeting to support Evansville Schools in their EL program development. From that meeting, we are now arranging an in-person visit to highlight our amazing staff.
Brent Keck
Congratulations to our own Business teacher, Mr. Brent Keck, for being named as the head coach for the Lebanon Leprechauns, a professional basketball team in the TBL.

Ms. Murray
Ms. Ariana Murray is working with students in her ENL 1 class to help understand their family trees. Students are learning familial vocabulary while learning about her other.
Mr. Adler & Mrs. Bass - Spell Bowl Team
The Spell Bowl team, coached by Jason Adler and Donna Bass, has once again qualified for the state competition. Our team of spellers will compete against the best around the state next weekend at Purdue University. Congratulations to our student speller and coaches, and we wish you the best of luck at state!
School Counselors - Indiana Trades Day Field Trip
Our school counselors took a group of students to the Indiana Trades Day event at Midwest Remediation. The students were able to learn more about trades opportunities, how to get started, and made valuable connections. It was a great experience for all who attended.
Mr. Woodke
On the e-learning election day, Mr. Woodke led a professional development session for all staff in attendance. Along with learning about the R-Factor from Tim Kight and how to use it to get the outcomes we are looking for, there were also opportunities to connect with one another. Our amazing staff members enjoyed learning about each other and with each other. Afterwards, the staff got a "behind the scenes" tour of the building.
Mr. Hanley & Mr. Klopfenstein
Mr. Hanley and Mr. Klopfenstein once again took our journalism students to the national conference. This year they traveled to Philadelphia to spend time learning alongside other scholastic journalists, adivsers, and journalism teachers from across the country. The conference is sponsored by the Journalism Education Association and National Scholastic Press Association, and is an amazing experience for all who attend.
Mrs. Harmon
Kelly Harmon is working with her newcomer students to learn the skill of comparing and contrasting. Students began sorting and categorizing items that were the same to show understanding of comparing and then different to demonstrate that they knew how to contrast. The students then worked in groups to compar and contrast characters from the movie Coco.
Ms. Honeycutt
Ms. Amy Honeycutt was working on communication skills with her work-based learning class. The students discussed appropriate ways to communicate with co-workers and discussed the difference between talking socially with friends and talking with people while at work. The students then practiced appropriate communication while taking on the new task of making muffins for the staff cart along with their daily coffee orders. Students had to discuss the best process and brainstorm how to problem solve. It is a great real-world experience for all students involved.
