Painless: The Opioid Musical
The Overdose Prevention Engagement Network (OPEN) and the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance are working with high schools across Michigan to educate students about opioid use disorder through Painless: The Opioid Musical. Painless is inspired by true stories of opioid use disorder and recovery and was designed to accompany the traditional high school health curriculum by engaging students through the arts.
Performance Participation Details:
- Painless is funded by grants from MDHHS, and therefore is free to all schools.
- The performance lasts for approximately 45 minutes.
- Performances are available on Mondays and Fridays in November 2024. The cast can perform at whatever time works best for your school.
- The musical can be performed with minimal set/props in almost any space.
- As part of the project, we would ask you to administer a short online survey to your students after the performance.
