Learning Model 9/24/20
As you likely know, this year we are prepared to move in and out of our three learning models as advised by our public health officials. Each Monday, we review local COVID case data and how it may impact our ability to be in-person (or in another model) in the weeks ahead. Working closely with local public health officials we are able to estimate case rates that will be released by MDH each week (since the state report has a two-week lag). Each Thursday, we have a call with Isanti Public Health and Minnesota Department of Health Officials regarding current data and trends. Following that call, we are able to communicate directly with parents and staff about plans for the following week(s). We share this information with you to assure you that we are planful in our decision-making processes. We have outlined this decision-making process on our website.
The plan to stay in Hybrid Learning at CIHS is dependent on the levels of confirmed cases both in the county and in the schools. This week, we have coordinated closely with all of our guiding agencies, and are glad to report that our plans to continue with Hybrid Learning at CIHS are still in place. Please take notice of the planned schedule below. If the need for Hybrid Learning continues beyond October 16th, a Trimester 1 schedule of Hybrid Learning can be found HERE.
Planned CIHS Schedule through Oct.16
IMPORTANT CALENDAR Reminders
Friday, September 25
Distance learning Days
During Distance Learning days, teachers will post assignments, discussions, and/or other course material to Schoology. It is important to remember that on Distance Learning days Mondays through Thursdays, teachers are working with students in person, and are not be immediately available. On Fridays, all students are in Distance Learning and staff are able to connect via Google Meet, or through other forms of communication/interaction that best fit the given content area. In all, teachers will provide clarity of Distance Learning days through Schoology. It is important to remember that at CIHS, with the number of content areas we are privileged to provide, Distance Learning will look different from course to course. Please continue to encourage your student to follow Schoology closely for Distance Learning expectations.
It is the expectation that students are active in learning on all Distance Learning days. Attendance is taken on days when students are not physically present in the building, and that attendance is based upon completing or participating in class activities. There will always be an activity of some sort to complete, so there will be no "off" days of learning!
Schoology Parent Portal
Parents/Guardians,
You have received an email allowing you to have Schoology access. This will allow you to monitor course material, grades, and other general information from each of your child's classes. Think of this as a virtual backpack for your student. To access additional information on the Schoology Parent Portal click HERE and/or watch the tutorial below.

Deadlines are in place!
As we continue to prepare our students for post-high school life, we want them to understand the importance of deadlines. With the shift to Hybrid Learning, accountability of work completion will be a challenge for students as this form of learning is new. We embrace grace and patience in learning, while also pushing our students to achieve and grow in life skills. Please continue to communicate and be mindful of important deadlines such as the mid-trimester (October 23). With the absence of being physically in the building daily, these deadlines feel as they approach much faster than in the past. Being proactive in your awareness of grades and attendance will produce positive results!

Please Return Textbooks
If you were provided a textbook last trimester and have not returned it, we ask that you bring that textbook to the CIHS Media Center. This way other students can access the same resources that you had last trimester. Thank you for your assistance with this!
Free Breakfast/Lunch Program
We are offering breakfast and lunch each day in our schools, and for a limited time (estimate 12/31) the USDA is providing the meals for students at no cost! As a reminder, we are also offering a curbside pickup at four locations: Isanti Intermediate, Isanti Primary, Cambridge Middle School and Cambridge-Isanti High School. This meal pickup is available daily when school is in session, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
