Dear St. Clare Families,

As a reminder, when sending communication to faculty and administration, please be mindful of email etiquette.

We understand that sometimes parents have concerns, and we want to work together as a team. Let's be respectful of each other, school team and parent team, so we may navigate concerns to ensure our students are getting what they need.
Why no Tuesday sports?
St. Clare Catholic School made a commitment at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year to have one night a week where sports are not scheduled so that two things could occur:
- All three of our parishes, St. Nicholas, Corpus Christi, and St. Clare of Assisi, can schedule parish meetings without interfering with sports. The school shares its Master Google Calendar with the parishes so they have real-time access to the happenings of the school.
- All of our organizational meetings, concerts, and other special events tend to be scheduled for Tuesday nights. This way we know we are not conflicting with St. Clare Athletics.
The St. Clare Campus has 419 students and 3 parishes to coordinate with. Our goals are to support our parishes, our students, and the many parent volunteers that are involved in our organizations such as School Board, Parents and Friends, St. Clare Athletic Association, Band, to name just a few.
What can I locate on the FACTS platform?
- All financials are located on FACTS. Please check regularly to ensure tuition, lunch, and incidentals are paid.
- Your child's grades are located on FACTS. Students in Grades 5-8 are also provided a login to FACTS so they may check their grades, missing assignments, etc.
- Previous Family Newsletters and School Board Minutes are located in FACTS. Simply login, review the dashboard to the left and click "Resources."
- A school directory is located in FACTS. You may filter by grade level, class, or search for a specific person for contact information. You may also click "Staff" to see the staff directory.
What is a Confidential: Gradebook Assignment Grade Auto Send?
Each day, including Saturday and Sunday, if your child has a missing assignment, a zero for an assignment, or was absent from an assignment, a report will be sent to families. The report is sent automatically and shows that is comes from Mrs. Ybarra. A few things to note:
- If you receive a report and have a question about the assignment, please ask your student about it first.
- If your child is not clear, please contact the homeroom teacher.
- If your child submitted the assignment late or upon return from absence, the report may be sent until the teacher updates the grade.
Social Media/Class Pages
The school has two social media accounts that are used consistently (Facebook and Instagram). St. Clare Catholic School Parents and Friends Organization, St. Clare School Auction & Gala, and St. Clare School Athletic Association are Facebook pages that are run by those organizations. Any other accounts, such as St. Clare Class of 2026, are not supervised or created by the school. Those grade level accounts were set up by parents and are run by at least one parent with a child in that grade level. If you'd like to be added to those accounts, please reach out to other parents in your child's grade level.
Special Note
NO ECP- September 27, 2024 (St. Clare Oktoberfest Preparation); This is a 2:00 p.m. dismissal.
Students need to bring a sack lunch.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs. Ybarra and Mrs. Howard

Update on Adam
Mrs. Ybarra spoke to Mrs. Green, principal at St. Teresa, and she shared the following information about Adam:
Right now there is not much to do. They are still in the hospital and don't know when he will be released exactly. This was mom's post 4 days ago.
On Sunday August 25 our world was turned upside down!
17 days since Adam was diagnosed with leukemia!
I will say cancer really messes with your head. He has felt so good over the weekend (eating so much and sharing recipes for me to make) and still feeling good. But today he has 3 chemo treatments and we are scared for what the rest of the week will look like. Right now he is starving and not complaining about the mouth sores. But he is complaining about walking and taking so many pills. He just wants his normal, fun childhood life back. He wants to ride his dirt bike, race in the hare scramble this weekend, he is insisting on family weekend at BET (at least go to the chili cook-off), he wants to be in school and see his friends, he wants to mow his lawns and continue making money (“so he can retire early”), he wants to fish and chop firewood and have a bonfire. But he can’t. And life is pretty darn unfair for him and so many other kids. There is nothing worse than sitting here and hearing parents sobbing down the hall because they lost a child to cancer. I cannot wrap my head around that.
We have never seen so much love and support. You are all amazing. Please keep the prayers coming for Adam and for us to get through this.
