AP Exam Registration & Hardship Request: Important Information
As we prepare for the AP exams in May 2025, here are some key highlights about registration and the hardship process for the 2024-25 school year:
- RCPS will cover the cost of AP exams for students who register during the standard registration period and take the exam on the regularly scheduled date.
- Students who register late, miss the exam date, or cancel their exam may be subject to additional fees from the College Board (late order fee, late testing fee, unused/canceled exam fee).
AP Exam Registration Deadlines & Process:
- An AP exam will automatically be ordered for students enrolled in AP courses, unless a hardship form is submitted and approved.
- Hardship Request: Families facing difficulties that impede their ability to take the exam can submit an AP Exam Hardship Non-Testing Request Form by November 1, 2024.
- Students wishing to use the regulatory guidelines provided to not take an AP test if they are in 4 or more must also complete the hardship request.
- Approved hardship requests will exempt students from taking the AP exam. However, any cancellations or missed exams without an approved form will result in a $40 fee and any other applicable College Board fees.
More information about AP Registration and the Hardship Request is included in the file linked below.
We look forward to connecting with you and supporting your student’s academic success!
Friday, October 25th is Cape Day to support patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
Cape Day is an annual tradition held in the Fall that encourages the community to honor and celebrate the strong and resilient patients facing illnesses and injuries at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Every day, CHOA patients overcome healthcare obstacles and face challenges that most of us could never imagine. We wear a cape in honor of them.
How Can I Get Involved?
We kindly ask that any Magnet staff or student who would like to wear a cape at school Friday, bring a $1 minimum donation to the Magnet Front Office. We will take a group picture at 7:55am in our capes and the money raised will be pooled together to donate to a CHOA patient in our community.
We look forward to celebrating Cape Day together!
