Sehome High School Mariner Memo
Week of May 24 - 28, 2021
Principal's Letter
It was so good to see our seniors coming through the cap and gown pick-up line! If you did not have a chance to come through and get your cap and gown, they are now available for pick up at the ASB office daily from 8 AM - 4 PM.
The PTSA Auction is in full swing. If you have not had a chance to check out the great items, please use the link below. We have an incredible group of sponsors and supporters. We are so thankful for our community for all their support throughout this year.
We do not have school next week Monday in observation of Memorial Day.
If you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations, please reach out.
Sonia Cole
Principal
Hello Mariners!
The PTSA’s All Hands on Deck virtual auction ends tomorrow, May 25, at noon. Have you had your eye on a specific package? Now is the time to get in those last-minute bids! If you prefer to make a direct donation, hit the “ Paddle Raise!” button.
Help us reach our goal of $20,000! All funds directly help our students and teachers. If you haven’t already, check out this video of our own SHS staff!

Graduation Cap Guidance
Decorating your cap? Graduation caps will be reviewed/approved in the staging lines (at Civic) by our school staff.
Here are some good options for your cap:
- Thank a parent, grandparent, family member, teacher, friend
- Recognize the college, tech school, or apprenticeship attending next fall
- Graduation year
- Branch of the military
- Cultural or traditional family symbols
Words and symbols must be consistent with our key strategies that create a safe and engaging learning environment.
Graduation
Tentatively, each senior will be given 2 tickets for their family. The ceremony will be live-streamed and the link shared so that other family and friends can view the ceremony.
No Bus Loop Parking
Thank you.
Reminder: Register now for fall 2021
Registration for fall 2021 is still open for kindergarten and all grades. Families can register students via this webpage. Registering now helps us hire staff, balance our classes, connect with families and ready our schools to welcome our students.
Registration is for students new to our district or who want to return after transferring to a school or program outside our district. You do not need to register current students; we automatically re-enroll them.
A special note about kindergarten: All children who will be 5 before Sept. 1, 2021 can be registered for kindergarten. We plan to start in-person learning at every school this fall with strong safety protocols in place.
To find out more about attendance areas, registration and childhood immunization schedules, please visit bellinghamschools.org/kindergarten or contact our elementary schools directly. Feel free to let a friend or neighbor with a future kindergartner know the registration window is open and ready for them!

If you have any questions about your student’s health needs while at school please contact your School Nurse, Alyssa Johnson at 360-201-8766 or alyssa.johnson@bellinghamschools.org.
